Description

Welcome to Locked on MLB, your daily national podcast covering Major League Baseball as part of the Locked on Podcast Network hosted by Tommy Stokke.
We've got a full show for our 15th episode, including an interview with Jason Rollison, the host and manager of Locked on Pirates to discuss the fast start by the surprise team in the NL Central.
Before the interview, Segment 1 is a quick rundown of Wednesday night's action with thoughts on each game, including a bullpen blow up for the Braves, a curious decision for the Reds, a scary moment for the Tigers and a no-hitter watch against the Mets.
Segment 2 is on the unwritten rule of retaliation, which we saw happen twice on Wednesday. First, the Padres and Rockies cleared dugouts and brawled when Luis Perdomo threw behind Nolan Arenado and Arenado threw punches at Perdomo. While Perdomo's glove toss is better than any pitch he's thrown this season, it will likely result in suspensions for him, Arenado and others involved. It then happened in Boston, when the Red Sox were upset because the Yankees might've broken another unwritten rule about sliding too hard, so they threw at Tyler Austin. Another brawl broke out, which leads to a discussion of whether or not the 'policing' should still be done by the players and what should happen as a result.
Segment 3 is our interview with Jason. He explains why what the Pirates are doing can be done all season long, the biggest reason for the early season success and some of the concerns surrounding the team. In addition, they take a look at the Andrew McCutchen and Gerrit Cole era in Pittsburgh and how those two are viewed today.
