Description

In this episode I share a teaching that I did with the ministry that I'm with. As I mentioned in the introduction, there are a few things that made sense if you were in the room but might not have been as clear if you were not. I thought these things were minor enough to still post the teaching here.At one point I used my hands to briefly describe the layout of first century Israel. Here is a map of Israel during Jesus' physical ministry so you can see what I was talking about: https://www.loc.gov/item/2009579463/Link to Winning the War in Your Mind by Pastor Craig Groeschel: https://www.amazon.com/Winning-War-Your-Mind-Thinking/dp/0310362725/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=winning+the+war+in+your+mind&qid=1624900048&sr=8-1Link to 1,000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp: https://www.amazon.com/One-Thousand-Gifts-Fully-Right/dp/0310321913/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=1000+gifts&qid=1624900963&sr=8-3**CORRECTIONS/CLARIFICATIONS**When I was discussing Moab and Mt. Seir regarding Deuteronomy 2, I said they were the descendants of Esau. The people of Mt. Seir were indeed descended from Esau, but the people of Moab descended from Lot, Abraham’s relative.I slightly paraphrased Philippians 2:14 (although it didn’t change the meaning). Here is the exact text: “Do all things without grumbling or disputing…”At one point I paraphrased Romans 8:28. Here is the exact text: "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."Near the end I was quoting 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. I accidentally slightly switched the word order in verse 18. While it didn't change the meaning of the text at all, I still wanted to include the passage verbatim here: "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."Feel free to email any questions or comments you have to ijustwanttotalkabout@gmail.com. Please note that while it may take a little while to receive a response, your email is very important, and it is not being ignored.Take care!
