Description
We all get in ruts sometimes where we just can't seem to get things done. Mental blocks get in our way of being productive. These happen to almost everyone but can be overcome or avoided with some simple steps.Implement these 5 things to help lower the likelihood that you will have a mental block or the duration of them.5 steps:1) Start Small: Tackle small bite size pieces of your bigger task. These add up and compound on one another. You also gain the satisfaction of the small wins that also build up your confidence and momentum. 2) Take Breaks: Take breaks after extended periods of work can you stay focus longer throughout the day and improve your productivity. Use the Pomodoro Technique or timer to help with this. That technique is work for 25 then take a 5 minute break. After 4 of those blocks take a longer break of about 15-20 minutes.3) Keep Things Tidy: It's been shown that a messy work area can decrease productivity. So take time to clean up that desk when you're done for the day so you can start off on a good foot the coming day.4) Don't Try To Do Too Much: When we overextend ourselves it can lead to burnout. That is one of the biggest reasons for burnout. People try to take on and accomplish too much at once. Pick a couple main tasks and focus on them one at a time to get them done. After that then you can move on to another. Learn to say 'no' to keep yourself in a healthy state.5) Take Care of Yourself: Health is wealth. Prioritize it. Do something active, eat healthier, drink more water, and get more rest. If you enjoyed this episode, check out more or connect with Chris here.Support the show (https://paypal.me/pencilleadership)
