Description

ABOUT THIS EPISODE Rabbi Ben Zion Klatzko began his career as a 21-year-old Brooklyn rabbi. After suffering the tragic, untimely death of his younger brother Gavriel, a 28-year-old outreach rabbi in South Africa with a remarkable young footprint, Rabbi Ben Zion determined to do more, and moved with his growing family to Los Angeles to launch educational programs at UCLA. That venture soon expanded to USC and other So-Cal campuses, and ultimately to his role as North American Senior Manager for Olami, which brought him back to New York to oversee campus programs around the country. In the interview, Rabbi Klatzko describes the legendary Shabbat table his family has since established, welcoming 60-100 Jews of all stripes every week...even posting tents in their backyard to accommodate the crowds! Ultimately this led to his creation of Shabbat.com, a premier Jewish social network, connecting host families with prospective Shabbat guests, as well as matching singles and offering a global Jewish community to its members. Rabbi Klatzko shares his passion and future dreams in this wide-ranging conversation. And he freely shares his contact information so that anyone - not just world-famous scientists like the one he describes meeting - can get in touch. -------------------- ABOUT THIS PODCAST Jews You Should Know introduces the broader community to interesting and inspiring Jewish men and women making a difference in our world.
