Description

Hold onto your -- oh, wait -- this episode is about the entire CARNOSAUR franchise, not Jurassic Park. Silly me.
Welcome to our second week of Julyssic Park and join Jake, Doug, and Ade for their various thoughts on Roger Corman’s Carnosaur.  But we don’t stop there!  We also discuss Carnosaur part 2, Carnosaur part 3, and the two “bastardizations” that follow the trilogy -- Jake’s words, not mine-- Raptor and The Eden Formula.
The original installment, Carnosaur, was loosely based on the 1984 novel Carnosaur by John Brosnan, under his pseudonym Harry Adam Knight. It is no coincidence that these initials spell "HAK." Brosnan also wrote several books on cinema, most notably: The Horror People (1976), The Primal Screen: A History of Science Fiction Film (1991), and Scream: The Unofficial Guide to the Scream Trilogy (2000)
While this film series isn’t as widely idolized nor recognized as Jurassic Park, both the movie and novelization pre-date Michael Crichton’s better known dinosaur creations.
Find out what Eric Roberts has to do with all of this, why Roger Corman is so damn cheap, how the 3 Stooges and Mad TV play into our conversations, and finally ending on titty talk (don’t ask, but now you gotta listen).
We also include a special interview with the Dino Geek himself, Tony Campagna. You can follow him on instagram: @thedinogeek and @thedinogeekscollection
