Description

Jason Ortiz is the Founder & CEO of Blue Suit Strategies. He is a seasoned political operative, with eighteen years of experience in lobbying, strategic research, public relations and political action, and has a long track record of significant political and electoral victories in New York City and State. Since starting his consulting firm last year, he has been the driving force behind several significant legislative victories for unions, non-profit/advocacy groups and criminal justice reformers; most notably, the transformation of New York State’s bail, discovery and speedy trial statutes. Jason earned his B.A. in in Economics from Rollins College He served in a number of capacities for the New York Hotel Trades Council and its international affiliate, UNITE HERE, between 2001 and 2011. He then worked in the public sector for New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, before taking a roll as the Managing Director of the New York City-based political consulting firm Metropolitan Public Strategies In 2015, he returned to the New York Hotel Trades Council, where he served as Director of Political and Strategic Affairs.
