Owen Jones
Author Owen Jones, from Barry, South Wales, came to writing novels relatively recently, although he has been writing all his adult life. He has lived and worked in several countries and travelled in many, many more. He speaks, or has spoken, seven languages fluently and is currently learning Thai, since he lived in Thailand with his Thai wife of ten years. "It has never taken me long to learn a language," he says, "but Thai bears no relationship to any other language I have ever studied before." When asked about his style of writing, he said, "I'm a Celt, and we are Romantic. I believe in reincarnation and lots more besides in that vein. Those beliefs, like 'Do unto another...', and 'What goes round comes around', Fate and Karma are central to my life, so they are reflected in my work'. His first novel, 'Daddy's Hobby' from the series 'Behind The Smile: The Story of Lek, a Bar Girl in Pattaya' has become the classic novel on Pattaya bar girls and has been followed by six sequels. However, his largest collection is 'The Megan Series', twenty-three novelettes on the psychic development of a young teenage girl, the subtitle of which, 'A Spirit Guide, A Ghost Tiger and One Scary Mother!' sums them up nicely. After fifteen years of travelling, Owen and his wife are now back in his home town. He sums up his style as: "I write about what I see... or think I see... or dream... and in the end, it's all the same really..."

Six Interesting facts About Fish and Fishing
1. Fish Can Recognise Faces: Some species of fish, like the archerfish, have remarkable facial recognition abilities. They can distinguish between different human faces, even if they wear disguises like glasses or hats. This suggests that fish have more cognitive abilities than we might think.
2. Biggest Fish: The Whale Shark: The largest fish in the world is not a predator but a filter feeder. The whale shark can grow up to 40 feet long and feeds mainly on plankton. Despite its massive size, it is gentle and harmless to humans, making it a favourite among divers.
3. Electric Eels Use Shocking Tactics: Electric eels, found in South America, can generate electric shocks of up to 600 volts! They use these shocks for hunting prey, defending themselves, and communicating with other eels. Anglers need not worry, though; these eels are not typically caught by fishing lines.
4. Fishing as Therapy: Fishing has been shown to have therapeutic benefits. It can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and improve overall mental well-being. Many anglers find solace in the peacefulness of nature and the focus required for the task.
5. The Goliath Tigerfish’s Legendary Bite: The Goliath Tigerfish, found in African rivers, is one of the most fearsome freshwater fish. With its razor-sharp teeth and aggressive nature, it’s been known to attack other fish, birds, and even small mammals Anglers who dare to catch one need to be prepared for a wild fight.
6. Fish Can Make Sounds: While we often associate sounds with animals like birds or mammals, fish can also be noisy. Some fish species, like the Oyster Toadfish, produce grunting or humming sounds
