About this ebook

This book offers an entirely new approach to magic. On the solid foundation of the ancient mystery schools, it distances itself from false and outdated ideas about magic. For the first time it transfers the still valid knowledge into the Aquarian Age. It is probably the first book that answers the most common questions about magic and shows a safe way to true magic - as a continuous process of one's own development towards the higher self.

    INTRODUCTION

There are many good reasons to publish an enlightening book on magic, and almost as many reasons that the true initiate could list as to why this dangerous undertaking would best be avoided. Magic has always divided mankind into two groups. One group that believes in magic and another that denies it. Nearly all people wish inwardly that there is such a thing as magic. The countless books and films about it confirm the great interest and deep inner desire of people that behind the hard facade of the material world there might be a mysterious and fantastic kingdom. The ideas about this kingdom are as varied as the people themselves. The most famous legends tell of fairies, witches, and magicians who spend their lives in a constant struggle between good and evil, between light and darkness. The conventional view of what a magician looks like or what distinguishes them from other people is completely opposite to reality. In popular movies, the typical magician is dressed in a tall hat and long cloak, carries a magic wand, and may have a long white beard. However, reality is very different. Most real magicians remain incognito, dress according to the customs of their country, and are virtually indistinguishable from their fellow human beings.

Interestingly, it is now easier to have a serious discussion about sex on a TV talk show than about magic. This confirms the great need for an informative and serious book on the subject. The curious will find real answers in this book, although these answers will be far beyond their current expectations. The seeker will find a comprehensive guide to help him separate the wheat from the chaff in the broad spectrum of esotericism. A small percentage of readers will put the book down after the first page and may pick it up again at a later date. Good books on magic are not meant to satisfy superficial curiosity; their purpose is to bring about the realization of truth and to set the reader on the right path. This book uses different styles of expression to reach different levels of the reader. Some sentences appeal to the emotions, others to the intellect, the heart, or even the soul. In this way, apparent contradictions can be better understood. When the student is ready, the true teachings appear. It would be completely wrong to understand this book only intellectually and hope for results. Timeless wisdom takes time to unfold. Regular and moderate study leads to greater results. But be warned: the study of magic can also be considered dangerous - the warnings of the great magicians of history are still valid today. Many a dabbler has been locked up in mental institutions for ignoring the warnings of the sages. Insanity and mental shock are only the lesser dangers of magic; the greater ones are far beyond the imagination of the average person. Careless instructions in so-called magic books have led many eager students astray. To give children matches to play with recklessly is to take responsibility for the devastating consequences of their carelessness. Undoubtedly, it is a risk to reveal certain areas of magic that were previously accessible only to selected initiates who were personally taught by adepts in secret ritual temples and lodges. The essence of these teachings comes from a tradition that has been passed down from initiate to initiate for an immeasurable amount of time. For thousands of years, it was forbidden for adepts to teach partial aspects of practical magic in written form. This is because immature people can easily misuse certain methods and symbols of magic for malicious purposes. Any written formulation is only a feeble attempt to describe something so categorically unlimited with the limited possibilities of words. Such magical definitions can easily be misinterpreted and used for selfish purposes. In the hands of a wise man, a poison is a remedy; in the hands of a fool, a remedy is a poison.

It is a natural desire of people to become masters of spells that can transform a villain or even make him disappear. The poor wish for wealth, the sick for health at any cost. The unloved want the sexual attention of their object of desire through a love potion. There is always a pressing desire for an inner deficiency to be remedied by a magical formula like a miracle. Magic appears to the outsider as a universal answer to all of life's problems. To the ignorant, magic is a secret system that promises power over one's environment and fellow human beings. The resulting failures are pre-programmed into this belief. The human desire for pleasure grows and develops according to a certain order. In the first stage, man has a craving for simple, animalistic pleasures. As his desires develop, he seeks wealth and prestige. A further growth of desire leads him to seek power. Rarely does a person develop an even stronger desire, which is the top of the pyramid and is the pure desire for spirituality. Once you have perceived the desire for spirituality, you automatically begin the search to satisfy this desire.

Humanity is on the threshold of a new experience of collective consciousness. People today experience more in a day than their ancestors did in a lifetime. This confirms the need for a modern book of practical magic, adapted to these new, evolving needs, yet still preserving the rich foundation of the tradition. Though the secure path passed down by the adepts of past centuries and millennia once led their students of magic to their goal, these instructions are often unusable in today's time. As each generation has its specific needs and tasks, so much more do we have the task of addressing the current needs of students of this sacred science. Most of the methods described in the historical manuals of practical magic were highly controversial at the time of their publication. Today's student is capable of experiencing faster and more far-reaching transformations than ever before. Transformation means first and foremost a change in one's basic attitude toward life, and the student will find much advice and help in this book. It reveals many of the aspects of magic that have been very sparingly reported in the past, preserved exclusively in the care of a small and tested circle of initiates of the mysteries. Some readers will find certain statements familiar, others will find them contrary to their basic ideas or prior knowledge of the writings of well-known occultists. Most prominent writers of occult literature draw on similar sources of wisdom, they just use different language, but the content is similar. Some statements are even often repeated from different perspectives, so that the student can actually approach the truth to a certain extent.

In a contemporary book on practical magic, it is important to recognize that the spiritual path of self-discovery can take many forms. Although there are many esoteric teaching methods, the path of practical magic is fundamentally different from the common goals of popular esotericism. Accordingly, it is a central concern of this book to introduce the reader to an authentic and unadulterated path. In our time, one is confronted with a confusing array of esotericism, richly dressed, but far from the true teaching. Although esotericism is more fashionable than it was a few decades ago, it is still not a matter of course to speak openly about it. In reality, esotericism is an inner teaching that is hidden. The great expectations placed on magic can only be disappointed due to the lack of an accurate approach and maturity. The outsider expects magic to solve all his problems. There are few words that are so misunderstood as the term magic. By magic people usually mean strange things that have little to do with magic in the true sense of the word. The reader is well advised to throw overboard the common notions of magic as he studies this book, thereby opening himself to a new experience of this mystery. Even where magical or spiritual techniques are used, there are great misunderstandings. There are many magicians who are wizards at best. Magic appears to be a great phenomenon, something intangible, accessible to only a few. The forces that draw people to the lower worlds are partly responsible for placing magic in such a confusing and misunderstood place. The greatest tool that allows people to enter the higher worlds has been deliberately reduced to the mundane and unrealistic to make it seem worthless or even non-existent. As a result, man remains trapped in the visible world and experiences himself as a victim of material isolation. The goal of the forces in the lower worlds was to make magic neither known nor popular, since it is the most effective tool for recognizing the truth behind the illusion.

Magic is a royal science that has other goals than what the student may initially comprehend in the early stages of their magical studies. Magic is the oldest knowledge of mankind and has its origin in eternity. Magic is a universal science that is difficult to separate from other sciences. It bears witness to the higher worlds and the true destiny of mankind. This knowledge was and still is strictly guarded. There is a mathematical equation that states that it takes a billion units of energy to create one unit of matter that we can touch. The interesting thing is that most people only deal with the billionth part of reality and overlook the much higher levels of energy responsible for its materialization. Every form of matter has its higher-level interactive forces, as the revolutionary findings of modern quantum physics prove. All that is truly essential is invisible to the material senses and therefore inaccessible to so-called realists. What makes a person holy does not belong to the mundane world and therefore cannot be tested for its truth value by a mortal. The true books of magic speak of new life and inspire a quiet longing for the sublime. This book offers deep insight into the nature of God, the world, and your own nature. You can devour this book with a thirst for knowledge and leave it at the level of theory, or you can absorb its contents and bring them to life. It is more effective to let go of the known and make room for the unknown. Try everything in this book, but keep only the best.

Since the beginning of time, seekers of the Light have made long journeys, endured great hardships, and invested all their wealth to learn less than what is so clearly presented in this book. The danger of underestimating it is great because it is so easily and inexpensively available. Suppose a rich person gives a very valuable seed to a poor person, but the poor person's field is overgrown with weeds. In this case, the valuable seed is of little use to the poor person because he lacks the conditions to sow the seed. So how well a person can use the information in this book also depends on whether his mental field is receptive to this seed. It is important to remove the old weeds that have spread before to make room for the new seed. The biblical parable of the wheat and the chaff serves as a model for this.

This book was written at a significant time, at the dawn of the new age. It will set you on the path to discovering a much more significant book to be found within your soul. If you hope to gain earthly treasures or control over your fellow man through this book, put it aside unread for the salvation of your soul, for the true contents are hidden behind powerful seals. Otherwise, evil would overwhelm you and seek to corrupt you. Only when the time has come for your soul to awaken will the dead letters reveal the living Word. Like the symbolic language of religious works, this book of the Rosicrucians is nonsense and incomprehensible when viewed and read from a materialistic point of view. But to those who are receptive to the higher understanding, the highest divine wisdom will be revealed. Only those who know Being will no longer long for appearances.

THE SECRET KNOWLEDGE OF THE MYSTERIES

The belief in extraordinary powers is as old as humanity itself. From 700 B.C. to 400 A.D., for more than a millennium, the Mysteries were the focus of various advanced civilizations, including Egypt. In the land of the Nile, the Mysteries were the basis of human affairs and needs for more than 3000 years. In the ancient Greek, Roman, and Persian empires, too, the Mysteries were not a minor religious fringe, but the center of human life. The entire culture was centered around them. Among the most notable mysteries are those of Dionysus, Mithras, and Eleusis - all of equal magnitude and importance. Their essence was endowed and provided the individual with a bridge to the inner realms. The priests of that time held high dignity and prestige, and their advice and influence were valued. These high priests, unlike many religious leaders, knew what they were talking about. They were in touch with and were the guardians of doctrine. Many of today's political and economic missteps could have been avoided with the counsel of such high priests. Turning away from the Mysteries came at a price. Religious, exoteric, faith-based communities have replaced the Mysteries. The facade has remained, but without the higher contact it is only a shell without content. Accordingly, the results of this way of thinking can be seen: misinterpreted commandments as well as the worship of idols up to our time.

In reality, the Mysteries are a completely secret discipline. From time immemorial, this occult knowledge has been carefully shielded from the general public. Only a few have been fortunate enough to come into contact with the guardians of these priceless treasures. The average person was and is too immature to experience this knowledge. If the Keepers of the Mysteries were to offer these treasures to an unprepared public, they would become the target of ridicule and attack, misunderstood instead of appreciated and respected as benefactors of humanity. These teachings are revealed only to those few who have shown by their conduct of life their determination to devote themselves to such study. The student is ready to receive the occult teachings only when the seal of the mysteries has closed his lips and he has overcome his own weaknesses and indiscretions. The occult science cannot be taught by written or oral instructions. Otherwise, it would be possible to publish a manual that could be taught like a school lesson. It is a common misconception that adepts deliberately shroud their abilities in secrecy, or wish to keep them to themselves and refuse to share them. However, when a student has reached the stage of enlightenment, these secrets are relevant to him. Only then is the student inwardly ready and receptive to receive the teachings. Until then, no lecture, discussion, or book can convey them. Meditation, study of sacred texts, rituals, purity of thought, word and deed, control of animal passions and selfless motivation under the supervision of an adept can show the way to the desired goal. The student can only grow and learn through practical experience. The initiator can do little more than guide the student inwardly through his compassion and higher consciousness, thereby enabling him to access the inner light. In doing so, the initiator takes upon himself much discomfort and suffering for and through his disciples. His service is to build a bridge to the disciple, and through this he attunes himself to the disciple. It is useless to emphasize that the spiritual states of the disciple and the teacher are fundamentally different. The greater the adept's powers, the less he is in harmony with the mundane that his students represent at that level. Since the disciple is sometimes still under the influence of external hypnosis, he can only be selfish, at worst even brutal. The purer the adept, the more difficult it is for him to do this job. The training can only be done gradually. The highest secrets would sound like nonsense to the unintelligent. Therefore, adepts prefer to remain silent on such subjects. Sages usually use words that can give either a true or a false impression. The former refers to their own disciples and children, the latter to the ignorant, foolish, and unworthy. The wise are careful not to make false statements. Misinterpretation lies with those who, because of their ignorance and obtuseness, misunderstand the meaning in question. The student is gradually prepared and attuned to the higher truths, which may take several decades or even incarnations in some cases. Giving someone more knowledge than they can absorb is undoubtedly a dangerous undertaking. Such knowledge would be disastrous for both the student and his personal and immediate environment. It would be like putting a powerful modern weapon into the hands of a primitive tribesman and seeing what happens. The misuse of knowledge by the student always has fatal consequences for the initiator as well. For what can be experienced within the Mysteries is about much more than life in this world. It is also about what awaits you after this earthly life. The Mysteries do not claim to improve life or the world in general, but they do free the initiate from the bondage and imprisonment of this world. Because of his fixation on earthly life, the seeker usually misses what the Mysteries are really about. Even the many esoteric paths offered are primarily concerned with the design of this world. The initiate of the Mysteries, however, has a different, broader perspective on this physical world in its myriad entanglements. In the ancient Mysteries, it was crucial to prepare for death in order to experience birth on a higher plane of existence. Death was thus the culmination of the Mysteries. The Egyptian and Tibetan Book of the Dead shows what awaits man after death. It shows what man has to accomplish and indicates ways for him to pass through the heavenly gate. In Western society, death is completely taboo. Most people die in an undignified and noisy environment in a hospital or nursing home. Care for the dying is often neglected because of ignorance and fear of death. Everything related to dying is repressed and hidden. Many people feel haunted by the shadow of death, overwhelmed by death because of the dark forces of evil. However, the Mysteries allow the darkness to fall so that heaven becomes visible. Once the clouded veil of ignorance is lifted, you gain access to the conscious experience of higher oneness.

    THE SCOPE OF THE MYSTERIES

Facing and dealing with death is a crucial aspect of life. The most important holiday in the Christian religion involves the mystery of death and resurrection. Most religions try to prepare people for death and support them through the sacraments. There are reports that near-death experiences are becoming more common. The people who have them have been pronounced clinically dead and yet have seen a white and luminous tunnel. This is only an interpretation by the living, these people were not really dead. The experience of death cannot be transferred as long as the person lives in this earthly world. The transformation to the next level has not happened, so there is no such thing as death in this context. Once you delve deeper into death, you will find that only the Mysteries can give real answers. Those who have experienced the Mysteries are prepared for death. The purpose of the Mysteries, therefore, is to free you from the constant cycle of life and death and to elevate you through mystical death and resurrection to eternal and true life. That is why the Mysteries have always been something sublime and joyful. In antiquity, the Mysteries were truly celebrated, of which Eleusis is a prime example. Ten thousand people were initiated into the Eleusinian Mysteries. This dimension is almost unimaginable today. Contemporary historians know very little about the actual background of these mysteries and what really happened. The complexity of the Greek mysteries is no less than that of the Egyptian initiation rituals. A central point of this mystery tradition is the conscious recognition and control of the invisible forces behind creation. This
