The desire to write my life story is mainly aimed at motivating the youth, to make their belief system strong and unshakable on the fact that no matter how bad the challenges you have in life you are absolutely capable of making a strong bounce back, just like I did.

Be A Warrior in The Storm - Rajesh Kewat

    Chapter 1

    DOWN THE MEMORY LANE

A loud knock on my cabin’s door brought me out of my trance. I had a spinal cord operation recently, so I am getting more free time than usual these days.

Come in, I said. Upon hearing these words from me, the visitor showed himself. He turned out to be Mr. Deepak, the process auditor for my company. He was here to discuss the upcoming Reward & Recognition ceremony of my company which is just around the corner.

I feel elated knowing that I am doing something positive for my employees. I want them to feel appreciated for all the hard work they do for the company. It was not a common thing during the time when I was an employee, and I sometimes wonder what difference it could have made to me if I was similarly appreciated and motivated.

I have always been an ardent follower of the ideology that ‘what motivation can do for a person, no other incentives can.’

We were discussing what should be the gifts this time, the previous quarter they were a sports bike, refrigerator, and television set to name a few. I am so grateful to the universe that I am being able to do so much for my employees these days because I have the resources to do so.

Thinking about my resources made me smile in recollection and took me back to those days in 2008 when I started a small business with whatever finances I could afford; a computer center at Dinhata, a small town in the district of Cooch Behar (West Bengal), where I was born and brought up.

Life since then has taken a 360° turn. It took a lot of effort and sacrifice to become what I am today and I feel it’s time to share the journey with you!

I am Rajesh Kewat and this is my story!

    Chapter 2

    A YOUTH WASTED

I still remember my days as a child there, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Although we didn’t live a life of luxury, it was peaceful. My father Kanai Lal Kewat is a man with strong opinions, and he worked as an assistant manager at a petrol pump in Assam. While my mother Laxmi Kewat, one of the kindest and most loving people, preferred to be a homemaker and my entire family was a fan of her cooking.

I started my schooling at one of the best English medium schools in Dinhata but due to our declining financial situation, I had to transfer to a Bengali medium School in standard three. It was one of the stepping stones in the journey of my life which culminated in one of my brands FastInfo Class.

I was too innocent back then and could not understand why I was made to go to a school where I was having such a hard time coping. Bengali for me was a second language in my previous school and I faced extreme difficulty in grasping the language but here the syllabus included poems and stories in the Bengali language. I was feeling so out of place in school that I started skipping it on most days. I was having a very hard time adjusting to this huge difference and it became my excuse.

I didn’t have many friends at that point in my life and the only way of spending time was watching television at neighbourhood houses. If you are a 90’s kid
