Have you ever felt trapped in your office? Do you get wanderlust in the middle of the day? Do you fantasize about getting in the car and driving wherever and sitting on a sandy beach somewhere? Of course you have. But you need to make a living, and you need to be in the office to do it. Even with all of the technological advances of the past several decades, the equipment you need is in a fixed location, and you have to be there to use it. Even after the pandemic, when you got a home office working, you had the same equipment and computers set up in your den, or a closet, or wherever the kids weren’t. Well, I had the same wanderlust, but I scratched that itch and figured out how to practice law wherever my car or RV could take me. Read on, and learn how I do it. Your situation will be different in many ways, but you should be able to figure out what works for you. In today’s fast-paced digital world, technology has become an integral part of every industry, including the legal sector. With the advent of cloud computing, video conferencing, and remote access, lawyers can now work from anywhere, at any time. This has brought about new challenges and opportunities for lawyers, who must now embrace technology to remain competitive in their field.

This chapter will explore the challenges and opportunities that lawyers face when using technology for remote computing. It will discuss the various technologies that lawyers can use to work remotely, including cloud computing, virtual private networks (VPNs), and video conferencing. The chapter will also cover the benefits of using these technologies, such as increased productivity, reduced costs, and improved collaboration.
