Few technology trends literally take off overnight, yet that's exactly what happened with videoconferencing. One day it was an interesting but rarely used option. Then, thanks to the Covid pandemic everyone was sent home to work or study.

Within days many of us became familiar with Zoom and Microsoft Teams. There are plenty of alternatives: Cisco Webex tends to be used by corporations; Amazon uses Chime and you may also come across Huawei Meetime if you work with Chinese companies.

It's a little more complicated for Google users. There is Google Hangouts and Meet, yet the company says it plans to move customers from Hangouts
