1.1 Readability Concerns in a Digitised World
In a digitised world, readability issues concern us as writers if we are to ease readers’ problems on text readability. Written text must necessarily be readable or else it has to be rewritten to mitigate readability issues. In the contemporary digital landscape growing rapidly with information overload, content creation has become a cornerstone of marketing tactics, educational materials, etc. That makes readability concerns all the more important.

When writing content, even for a webpage in a digitalised world, one rule should always be followed: make it easy for our readers to understand the written word. After all, why put information out there if readers cannot even grasp it?
Content creators should consider what is important: how to make text or web pages for that matter easy to skim what is seen as massive information in an information age. Mind you, readers have to deal with countless words daily. Making a text or a webpage easy to skim avoids content overload and helps sustain reader interest. It also makes reading smoother and readers are then more likely to read when they perceive the written text is easy to read.
Writing simply does not mean you are talking down to people. Most people generally appreciate getting information quickly in a fast-paced world, so simplifying written text makes you look real smart as a writer! To make content easy to understand, there are readability guidelines which this eBook will discuss in depth.

The benefits of readable texts will entice you to improve on your writing with the aim of making your
