Understand IT - LeffeLearn
Understand IT, starting from scratch
is part one of the starting from scratch
series with the goal of teaching in a manner that is quick and effective to quickly grasp the basic yet fundamental concepts of Information technology(IT).
The term IT
stands for Information Technology. It refers to the use of computers, software, networking, and other electronic devices to store, retrieve, transmit, and manipulate data or information. IT encompasses a wide range of technologies, including hardware (such as computers, servers, and storage devices), software (such as operating systems, applications, and databases), networking (such as internet, intranet, and extranet), and telecommunications (such as telephone systems and wireless networks).
IT is a very broad category, with that said, unfortunately we can’t cover everything, we will focus on a few specific fields in IT. You will get a good understanding of what IT can do for you and how you can utilize it to improve, create and much more.
For those who like to learn by doing, you will be provided with resources that can help you accelerate your learning journey by creating and not just reading, which is a great way to remember more and get a deeper understanding while having fun. The book is also structured in a way that if you want to tag along and learn new concepts without hands-on learning, you can read and look at our illustrations of the topics in the form of diagrams and pictures.
We will cover 3 fundamental concepts in the forms of chapters, we will also include 1 bonus-chapter. You will get access to internet based test environments where you can implement what you have learned. We provide you with guidance that makes the learning journey easier, more productive and of course fun and enjoyable.
You won’t have to install anything to complete the book. Everything you will make in terms of hands-on learning, will be internet based so you can easily visit websites to practice what you learn. However, throughout the book we will provide the reader with guidance on how to install tools to continue to accelerate the learning journey after the book is completed.
We will leave out a lot of details when we explain because the main focus is to provide the reader with the big picture. When you have seen the big picture and how everything works from that perspective, it will be easier to deepdive into a field.
