About this ebook
New disciples need to get acquainted with their Bibles. How do you make sense of a 1,000+ page book without help? Where do you start? Find the help you need here.
When new Christians are given a Bible and told to start reading in John, they can be completely overwhelmed with the size of the Bible and have no idea how to find John.
Allen W. Baker
Allen Baker served in the military and Civil Service before retiring to teach college classes. He is concerned that many new Christians receive no discipling after their conversion, so they fall back into their old lifestyle and miss the joys of being a child of God. He is on a mission to help churches make committed Christian disciples of all their members.

Allen Baker is a gifted teacher who has gone over and above
to research and prepare his material on discipleship. He then presents it in a clear and understandable manner. Whether you are a new Christian or a long-time follower of Jesus Christ, you will benefit from his book. I recommend it not only for personal growth but also for group instruction.

Do you know your Bible? Getting to know your Bible’ is a book written by my friend, fellow church member and fellow brother in Christ, Allen Baker. When our church was wanting to offer a basic discipleship study that could be shared with new Christians and those who have been Christians for some time, Allen took on the challenge of writing this study. After going through this study as a church, Allen was prompted the Holy Spirit to publish this book so that many more Christians could be blessed by his work. If you are looking for a fresh introduction to your Bible that is Holy Spirit inspired and easy to read and understand, then this is the book for you. I promise you’ll get to know so much more about your Bible than you ever knew before. The practical application and knowledge that | have learned helped me answer the question,
Do you know your Bible?" I do now! Thank you, Allen, for this insight.
Dave Bishop, a brother in Christ Jesus
Accepting Jesus’s offer to become a follower of Him is a no-brainer for anyone who gets’ it. But knowing what’s next and what to do about it is another matter entirely. Sadly, we, as The Church, aren’t very good at helping them.
Getting to Know Your Bible’ is a great place to start! It’s easy to read and understand and explains to a new Christian how to get on his way!
Our church went through this discipleship program together on Wednesday nights. It generated lots of good discussions and lots of I didn’t know that!
remarks from those of us who should have known! I loved this book and those sessions and | think we grew closer as a congregation through them. It was good for me and my church! It will be good for you and yours too!
Wilma Bishop, A Christ Follower
This book provides a simple and practical way to grow in your knowledge of the Bible as well as help you feel equipped to disciple others as they grow. The discussion questions included are a great tool for individuals and small groups alike to promote comprehension and conversation. I highly recommend this book to any individual wanting to grow in their knowledge of the Word as well as churches in their endeavors to equip the saints.

Introduction
The Bible that we use today is the product of many centuries of writing, assembling, and translating the history and writings of the Hebrew people, plus the writings of the New Testament authors. It is the centerpiece of all Christian churches and is held in high esteem by all Christians. But it is also an imposing book and can be challenging to read and study. In this study, we will examine the Bible from several viewpoints, including its claims to be the inspired Word of God, its organization and arrangement, its history, its storyline, and its translation into the English language.
As you read through this study, take time to look up the Scripture references and answer the discussion questions. Those questions will be the primary focus of our group meetings, along with your questions about the material being presented.
Where Scripture is quoted, the quotations are taken from the English Standard Version (ESV).
