About this ebook

"The Abduction" is an intense erotic thriller of love and trauma. The contemporary romance set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Colorado Rockies. This is not just a romance story, but here passion and pain collide as two souls move through darkness to find the light of love.

Jennifer Blake, a compassionate nurse, finds herself kidnapped by Brian Johnson, a man with a broken psyche torn between light and darkness. Brian, haunted by a traumatic past where his mother's tragic death and his father's relentless abuse forged the chains of his fractured mental health, now battles the demons of dissociative identity disorder (DID). Brian's tortured soul reveals a man starved of affection, denied the warmth of love. In a haze of vulnerability and longing, despite his heinous actions of drugging and imprisoning her in a mountain cabin basement, Jennifer is strangely drawn to him. They surrender to the tempest of their emotions, seeking solace in each other's arms.

One of Jennifer's old loves, Adam, returns and begs forgiveness for his previous behavior, and wants to revive their romance. Torn between the two men, Jennifer has to make the tough decision of choosing one man.

Brian has vowed to make her his submissive. He handcuffs Jennifer in the basement and begins the training by spanking her. Surprisingly, rather than instilling fear, Jennifer's concern lies with Brian, her unexpected arousal catching her off guard. Jennifer finds herself relentlessly drawn to Brian, their encounters becoming increasingly heated as they explore the depths of their desires together. Bound by passion and craving, their intimacy takes on a new dimension, intertwining pleasure with elements of restraint and submission.

The Abduction - Daniel Z. Knight

    Prologue

    THE ENDING OF PART 1:

One evening in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Brian is standing on the porch of his mountain cabin in a standoff with three sheriff deputies who are taking cover behind their patrol cars.

The setting sun was low on the horizon, and a cool breeze hit Brian’s face. He smiled and took a deep breath while looking at the pretty orange color the sun was painting on a smattering of clouds.

Feel that breeze, Sergeant Davis? Smell the fragrance of the forest? That’s why I can’t go to jail. It would completely destroy what’s left of my sanity after my dad did everything he could to crush it for seventeen years. The beautiful forest and mountains are the only things keeping me together, even if by a small thread.

Put down your gun, Mr. Johnson, and we can talk about this. There’s plenty of time. You don’t need to resort to violence.

I’m afraid you’re wrong. I’m sorry, officers, for forcing you to do this. I don’t have any choice.

Brian raised the gun and started firing……

NOW THE EXCITING CONCLUSION OF THE ABDUCTION!

    Chapter 1

Jennifer still couldn’t believe what she had been through the past 24 hours. From being kidnapped and locked in a basement to the kidnapper threatening to make her his submissive sex slave forever. Events had taken a crazy turn the next day. He released her, and Jennifer tried to help the guy who had kidnapped her. He wanted to end his life and tried to force Jennifer to kill him. When that failed, he was determined to commit suicide-by-cop. She eventually convinced him to forget that idea and try to seek help from local mental health institutions.

Now, Jennifer was home in her apartment. She was so tired and stressed from all the events; she just wanted to take a hot bath, relax, and have a glass of wine. Find something in the fridge to eat, and then go to bed and sleep for 12 hours.

Nooo, she groaned when she picked up her ringing phone and saw who the caller was. Jennifer was a nurse at a local hospital and had the weekend off. Getting a call could only mean one thing. They were short-staffed. She was dead tired but still pushed the answer button, anyway. Jennifer felt a responsibility. If they weren’t fully staffed, it could endanger someone’s life.

Oh, Jennifer, you’re there, thank God! I hate to ask this, but Melanie is sick and has to go home. Can you please come in and finish her shift in the ER? You will only have to work a couple of hours, Lisa said. She was the Charge Nurse for the hospital. I have talked to Meghan, and she and her husband are having a party, and she has been drinking, so she can’t come in. I reached Lacy, but she is about an hour and a half away. We can’t wait that long. So, can you do it? I would owe you one.

Okay, even though I was just about to take a hot bath with a glass of wine.

    I’m sorry.

I’ll be there in about 15-20 minutes.

Thank you. You’re my hero, Lisa said.

Later, Jennifer said and broke the connection. Well fuck, she said sadly. No rest for the weary.

Going into her bedroom, she pulled out scrubs and the special shoes she wore while nursing. The shoes were super comfy, but she only wore them at work. She was out the door in five minutes, jumped into her car, and headed for the hospital.

    ***

Another thing that sucked about being called in was it was a Saturday night. Friday and Saturday nights were always the worst. People are blowing off steam for the weekend, drinking too much, getting into fights, and stabbing or shooting each other. And then there were the car wrecks, too, that came from drinking and driving. Jennifer knew that her two hours would be busy.

She had barely walked into the ER when another nurse, Bev, gave her some news.

We got a report of a man coming in. Police had a standoff with a guy at a cabin in the woods; he has three gunshot wounds.

Is he the only one? Were any of the officers shot or hurt?

    No, only the one guy.

Okay, having 4 or 5 people come in with gunshot wounds would be bad.

Yeah, well, we better get ready; they will be here soon. They had the ambulance on stand-by while they approached the cabin.

Five minutes later, the EMTs were pushing a stretcher into the ER with the gunshot victim. The technicians, nurses, and doctors quickly took over from the EMTs. A few seconds later, his bloodied and torn clothes were cut away. The anesthesiologist pulled away the oxygen mask the EMT had been using so he could replace it with the one in the operating room. Jennifer gasped, her eyes wide in shock, and her heart pounded furiously when she saw the man’s face.

    Brian!

She moved closer to get a better look at the unconscious man.

No, no, Brian, oh my God, what happened? she asked. Her face was ashen and a mask of concern.

She couldn’t believe it. The man lying on the gurney was her kidnapper, the same man she had had sex with just a few hours earlier. Her eyes scanned his bloody body. Remembering only a short while earlier, she had caressed his chest, abs, and arms while he made love to her. Was that what it should be called? Making love? They had known each other for less than 24 hours. However, she felt like it was more than a simple fuck between two people who barely knew each other.

Emotions had run high. Brian wanted to die, and Jennifer thought she had talked him down. Learning of his childhood abuse and trauma from his father, she felt for him despite the fact he had kidnapped her. Because of the abuse from his father, he developed PTSD and a split personality. One side was nice and gentle, and the other, the one who drugged and abducted her the night before, was mean and obsessive.

During the night, while he slept, the mean side, the one he called Bad Brian, disappeared, and Good Brian took over. The next day, he released her unharmed.

You know this guy? Bev asked while examining a wound in his upper arm.

Yes, not very well, though, Jennifer said while tears blurred her vision. What had happened? When she had last spoken to him, he said he was going to seek help from local psychiatric hospitals. Had he changed his mind? If so, what made him change it? Why had the sheriff’s deputies gone to his cabin, anyway? How did they know to go there? She and Brian were the only ones who knew anything.

Wait a minute, Amy knew. She had directions to get to the cabin and was against Jennifer’s return to the cabin after Brian had released her. Amy must have called 911 and reported it. That bitch, she said to herself. Amy was Jennifer’s friend. Jennifer was fuming. How dare Amy do something like that behind her back?

Jennifer! Are you just going to stand there, or are you going to help? Dr. Richardson asked.

Jennifer had been so shocked she hadn’t moved.

Sorry, Doctor, I know the man, and it upset me for a moment.

Are you going to be able to do your job, or do we need to bring in another nurse?

I’m okay now, she said, wiping the tears away, I can do my job.

After a little over two hours, the medical team had successfully saved Brian’s life. The bullets didn’t hit a major organ or artery or break any bones. Jennifer washed up, and since her shift ended, she headed toward the exit. A man stopped her before she could leave.

Hello, are you Jennifer Blake? he asked. I’m Investigator Ralph Bernstein with the sheriff’s department. I’m investigating the case of Brian Johnson. Do you have time for a few questions?
