red
fortunate are those
who’re graced by God,
to see the world as it is
lucent and vivid.
amid tints of life and death,
they grow up;
the pigments that stay beside
in the time of need.
what binds us all involves
congenital thrift and care;
what shatters us all includes
conflicts, blood and war.
riveting how all these,
delineate hues of red,
that would run on,
until hell freezes over.
the vibrance that upholds
the world and its people,
and the light and warmth
that the Sun provides;
no color exists as sultry,
yet calm, as red,
typical of the heavy-blush
on the cheeks of brides.
the deftly knit, excruciating
war poems, by Owen and Brooke,
tell the saga of glorious battles
and the scathing truth-
wrath and revenge
of human minds,
that acted upon well;
red- the color smeared on bodies,
whose lives they took.
flora and fauna are always
at the mercy of mother nature,
how uncertain
