About this ebook
"Open Passage" is the first poetic journey by Greek writer
Anastasia Kafoussi, a story about the esoteric quest of man in order to be liberated from fear and bondage. To search the road of truth and wisdom in order to find spiritual exits from the complete degradation of materialism, determining again the foundation of his existence. Finally, to give battle to find the road to hope, to dream, to have vision again.
“We are lost in the cycles of life, by accepting one-dimensionally
our material foundation. By avoiding or forgetting also to traverse
the road of our esoteric realization, we follow the armies of those with the earthen masks. We haven’t other than to exceed our fears and give our own battle, in order to open the eyes of the soul to a new horizon for realizing the prospects of conscience, through the open passage, with more truth, love and light.”
Here is one of the poems:
"Nocturnal Visitors"
I follow the sun that subsides
at the edge of the world of my eyes
and I hearken to the echo of life
which closes the cycle of the day.
You think that everything will fall silent
and will surrender to the sweet coziness of the evening.
But the creatures of the night remain vigilant
and their breath becomes a warm wind
whose heat awakens the memories
residing in the chambers of my mind.
Slowly and indolently, after years of torpor,
behind doors which remained hermetically sealed,
they stir my feelings,
those that I left unspoken during my journey in time.
But they survived, like aged warriors
who never paused to justify
the battles they had to fight,
even as the hordes of enemies
were bloodthirstily climbing the walls of their castles.
Thoughts, quests and desires,
images, sounds and colors
are coming to meet me.
Nocturnal visitors
who unexpectedly knocked at the door
and asked me for a little oxygen,
to breathe in my dreams.
And by following the luminous paths of my fantasy,
I find myself in places where the phantom of decay did not wander,
there where the feelings did not remain inactive,
there where the expression of the soul favors drops of happiness.
There where a child holds in his hands the stars that are falling
and dreams are not utopia...
