Appendix 2 poems are by a young friend who is called Satakas. Thank you so much. You are such a beautiful person, inside and out, even if you don’t think so. I love you, little sister.
Thanks to Akourah for being the cover model. For comments on this picture or others of her, she has set up an email. It is akourah@hotmail.com.
The lovely piece of cover art was done by Isam Shakir. Thank you so much, little brother, for this beautiful, original piece of art that suits the mood of my book so much. Never forget that I love you. To view other art by him, or to obtain links to other artists, go to www.thesilentscreams.tk.
Thanks to all of the people who took a look at my writing and gave their opinions when I was unsure about things. You know who you are. Your attention is appreciated.
I would also like to thank the folks at www.metalstorm.ee for all their support. You guys rule! This is a great site for all things metal, and even some things not metal, including a poetry and prose section, which is filled with young writers from all walks of life.
I would like to acknowledge the Estonian metal scene. Though your music is young, formed from the hardships of Soviet occupation, shortly after achieving independence, it is inspiring, uncompromising, and original. You are unique, having never submitted to the mainstream, with a proud, angry defiance of it. May your honor and will remain firm, through Estonian metal purity.
For more information about Estonian metal, please visit www.metal.ee or www.estonianmetal.com.
Last, but certainly not least, a very special thanks to my brother, Death
. Had it not been for your inspiration and guidance, my poems would never have reached the level that they have. I might have even given up, but you encouraged and inspired me, time and time again. You are the best friend a person could ask for, and you do this just by being who you are. You helped me find the person who was buried beneath everyone else’s expectations, and taught me to accept the person who I am, simply by accepting me, unconditionally. I bow to your undying will, which inspires me to no end. Thank you for being my brother, where it counts, in my heart.
Introduction
Living a life, when I was not myself, things were empty. One day, that all changed. Meeting the best friend of my life, things awakened, the search put forth, and writing began. These are the poems of a raging dreamer, the screams of the soul. Through countless days and nights, and changing emotions, these writings were created out of the life and pain of those times. Had it not been for the inspiration and guidance of that best friend, the search would have ended in shallow waters, but gladly, they did not. Thank you, Death
, my brother, for guiding on the path to my true self. This journey is a legacy to you…
A Cold Caress
The chill of November rains rips apart at my crying heart.
Fall upon my soul in the torment of ageless demise!
Screams of anguish unheard by human ears, emitted from a soul gone cold.
I cannot feel, and yet I feel too
