About this ebook
Newlywed Linette Holmes is ecstatic to have found her Mr. Right, but she's less than enthusiastic about moving into the home he shared with his first wife, who met an untimely end. However, she wants to make him happy, so she reluctantly agrees and moves in, ready to start her new life.
When her husband abandons her for a business trip, she's stuck alone with his morose housekeeper. Soon, things start to go very wrong and she has a close call she barely escapes. She assumes it's just an accident, but when the 'accidents' escalate, she can't ignore that her near misses appear more calculated. Is the housekeeper trying to kill her or is something otherworldly at play? When a visitor is killed in the house, she decides it's time to vacate the premises. But easier said than done. In the beginning, the house didn't seem to want her there, but now it won't let her leave.

Melody Delgado sighed and leaned into the mirror to tweeze her eyebrows. She was so bored. She couldn’t wait for Brenton to get back tomorrow.
He should not have left her alone. They’d only been dating a few weeks, and she often spent the night at his house, but usually with him. She didn’t like being here without him. She couldn’t shake the feeling that the presence of his dead wife, Gillian, somehow loomed in the shadows.
She scooted the vanity chair back and stood, bumping into the table, sending the mirror crashing to the floor. Great. There goes seven years of bad luck.
Ugh.
She left the bedroom in search of a broom so she could sweep up the mess. As she stepped into the hallway, a chill rushed over her flesh. Something in the air felt...wrong...heavy with malevolence.
She paused and looked around. Nothing. She was completely alone. No one lurked in the shadows ready to jump out at her.
She laughed and shook her head. You’re being ridiculous. Get a fucking grip.
She hurried to the staircase and was halfway down, when the steps somehow...moved. They bucked beneath her like they were alive. Fear froze her insides, and she reached out to grip the wall for balance. Her hand touched something sticky. She held it in front of her face and stared in horror...was that blood?
Music played from somewhere in the house. But how was that possible? She was alone. Even Brenton’s housekeeper was away. She recognized the old song, Tonight, You Belong to Me.
The stairs continued to shift beneath her feet. Was she losing her mind? None of this was possible. Panic built inside, increasing just as the volume of the song did. She had to get away...get
