About this ebook

Melody was born in California, but her father was a high-ranking Army officer and her family lived wherever he was stationed. The Far East, Asia and Europe, finally landing in the United Kingdom living is a small village in England was her last stop before the family headed back to the states. One of the things Melody hated about moving around so much was leaving their previous location and having to learn the new area, meet new people and attend different schools.

In some locations it was harder to fit in than in others. In England she had the same issues, until she met Lynn. Though their first meeting began with a rocky start they quickly became intimate friends. Their first meeting came about when Melody saw Lynn walking into an old, abandoned building not far from her home. The local kids joked about the place being haunted by ghosts and demons. So Melody’s interest was piqued seeing Lynn go inside alone.

She followed the girl inside and it took her a while to find where she went because of the darkness of the building. Finally, after looking for some time, Melody spied Lynn sitting on a wood box half-dressed doing something that Melody felt was shockingly outrageous. It was something girls just didn’t talk about, though Melody did concede that a thrill shot through her body at finding Lynn in such a compromising position causing her to gasp. Lynn heard the interloper and jumped up to teach the girl a lesson for spying on her. Melody realize this was not the best way to meet new friends.

    Chapter One

My name is Melody, and my father was an army officer during the Cold War. When he took command of a new unit, we were obliged to move to the nearest town to the barracks. So I grew up an Army brat and lived in Europe, Asia, and the Far East. Today, I am bisexual, married, have two wonderful children and I would like to share It all happened in a small town in England , when I was just 18.

Every time my father was reassigned we had to change schools, make new friends and in general go through the traumatic experience of the newcomer in a small community . My brother and I hated these moves.

We were living in a rented house in a quiet part of the town with a large back yard. That’s where my brother and I would hang around. At first the local kids were sort of ignoring us, but slowly, as our yard was big it eventually became the playground of the neighborhood.

Behind our house there was a small, abandoned building. It must have been like that for many years as part of it had collapsed and wild plants, trees and bushes had almost covered it. The local kids had some rather terrifying ghost stories to tell and all of them believed that it was certainly haunted. No one dared to go near it !

One afternoon, looking out of my window, I saw the daughter of one of our neighbors, Lynn, sneaking through the bushes and disappearing into this building. She was a bit older than me, about 19 and obviously not afraid of ghosts and evil spirits.

I became very interested to see what she was up to, so I
