At the age of 17, I made a decision that would alter the trajectory of my life. Joining the Navy provided me with a sense of purpose and an opportunity to serve my country. It was during my time in the Navy that I not only discovered the love of my life, Leslee Maria Hayes, but also embarked on a journey of personal and educational growth. Balancing the demands of military service and my academic pursuits, I steadily progressed from E-1 to E-5, and later from O-2 to O-5, while simultaneously working towards completing my bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. This period of my life was marked by resilience, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of knowledge.

As I navigated the complexities of advancing my career and nurturing my personal relationships, I recognized the significance of finding harmony amidst the chaos. Despite facing the challenges of multiple medical conditions, which has rendered her 100% disabled and caused the shutting down or slowing down of some of her organs, she has remained a pillar of unwavering strength and determination. Her resilience in the face of adversity has been an inspiration to us all. Even on the toughest days, she exudes a spirit that refuses to be defeated, pushing through with grace and tenacity. In addition to her battle with multiple illnesses, Leslee has also faced near-death experiences resulting from surgery complications. Despite these immense trials, her unwavering determination and resilience have remained unshakeable. Her remarkable journey serves as a testament to the power of the human spirit and the strength that lies within each of us to overcome even the most daunting challenges.
