Three Sisters - Abdullah Al Mamun
Afterlife
There’s nothing called an afterlife.
Soon after we die.
You are free to go.
You turn into dust.
Hellfire is a myth,
Heaven and hell don’t exist.
You will not be punished
for the ugly things you did.
You will not be rewarded either,
for the good things you did.
You get paid in this world
for what you do.
Life is eternal after death.
Your soul continues to live.
God is somebody who does exist.
He genuinely created the Universe,
that’s not a myth.
But the scriptures are all rubbish.
They are old and medieval.
You live your free life,
You don’t need God’s approval.
The messengers are all liars,
Lied tons of lies.
Religions are made by God,
That’s a total lie.
Why would he choose conflict
creating different paths?
He had no intention to divide
all of us.
An old woman
An old woman in her 80's, going down the hill
to fetch water with two big pitchers,
one in her back and another in her hand.
Once she had everyone around.
Her husband and children when she was young.
Now her husband is in paradise.
Children are all grown up and don't live nearby.
It's a tragic situation for an old lady
when she cannot take care of herself,
It's a damn pity.
She needs to go to an old home
but she doesn't have the money.
It's a situation where millions of
old people are trapped in.
Children cannot help when they are not rich.
The state should come in for their rescue.
The state is the only hope.
Private organizations can help them too.
Ancient wisdom
Ancient wisdom is beautiful.
It is like a flower on a book.
It is useful and effective.
Didn't lose its meaning, didn't miss
it's perspective.
It is still relevant in modern times.
From whisper to whisper,
it is now a deafening roar,
it still shines.
It is spellbinding for adults and children alike.
It shows the way, it shows the daylight.
It releases fragrance like a flower,
in wisdom, you take your shower.
Broken thoughts
Maybe it is a blank stare,
he is looking at nowhere.
Maybe he is looking back at his whole life.
Back to those days when his wife was still alive.
Now his
