Lady Daylight and Darkness - Journey R Owens

    One

You can’t fail not now. Ten years ago when I was eleven I was abandoned by my family. I was brought to the Forest and was told to go search for an item that didn't exist but when I got further into the Forest I  heard them take off.

They told me There is a quest for you and you only and you must go to do it now He told me They say there's a ruin in the forest that will open to only one person along with a relic He added  I tried to ask questions but he cut me off saying That's all I was told about my quest. When we got to the forest he watched me walk in and as soon as I was far enough into the forest he left. I could hear him tell the guards Lets go before she finds out As soon as I heard that I ran back but when I got back nobody was there not even a trace that someone had stood there, just me alone in the forest.

So I didn't go into the forest for a week. I just watched to see if anyone came along the road, nobody did, nobody came to even check up on me, nothing. I Looked towards the forest. I had no lantern or lighter to even light the way all I had was daggers and swords. Being eleven and going into the forest alone scared me but I sat on the side of the road until dawn came. I woke up when the sun hit my face. I slowly took my time going into the forest I turned back many times the last time I told myself You have to do this show them your not weak I walked into the forest even though the sun was bright and high in the sky and warm the forest was cold and dark almost pitch black if it hadn’t been for the entrance of the forest.

I heard many animal noises throughout the forest. I kept my hand on my sword at all times until I got to what I think is the middle of the forest where there was an x marking on the ground. I heard a voice scream The king has brought fresh blood I moved off of the x and drew my sword a few monsters of different kinds all striked me at once.

I was bloody already. I could sense night was falling. I remember my mother telling me The forest is a beautiful place until nightfall that's where they attack powerful people Nightfall I mumbled one of the monsters grinned towards. That smile still haunts my dreams Grinning from both sides of its face, its eyes the brightest and darkest red. At the same time it went to strike me again but I dodged it lucky guess I told myself. I tried to match it movement but if I got this monster movement I could get the other three’s.

But I had to do something to fight or to run. This time I had to run when all four of them went to attack. I ran deeper into the forest. I could hear the screeching from a mile away or what I assumed was a mile I encountered more dangerous monsters one more powerful than the last I kept saying run, run until I can’t run anymore each step I took was keeping me alive every time I passed a monster they called out Human passed 10,12,15 Until I reached the end of the forest the last monster I passed the monster called out Human reached the end.

The end I thought was it over I thought I saw the sun I reached to grab it but it wasn’t the sun it was power, magic my magic the same color as the sun and it grew stronger as I got closer to the monsters some of the monsters I had gotten to close to vanished into ashes most of the monsters vanished away before I could get close to them. I got the closest to the Main monster the anger I felt in my chest my breathing got heavy the kind of breathing to go along with the anger as the anger grew so did my power until I couldn't contain the power and I released the power towards it as the things grin left its face.

It turned to ashes within minutes. I was alone, no noises, no power, everything was gone. I walked back to where the end  of the forest was. I reached my hand out putting it on the forest walls realizing it wasn't the walls of  the forest but to ruin the legend my father had told me about. Your quest is to find the lost relic to the kingdom the one your mother had gotten when she was younger the one she went to get but died trying to find the one that belongs to me He told me For himI mumbled For himI said even louder the only way he's even related to her is through marriage I said to no-one The relic isn't even hisI said He’s a ThornBlood not a FrostBiteI screamed yet he was told about it the day my mother died. He told me Your mother would have wanted me to have it but he wasn't even there when she died. I was there when they informed me that the queen died. I remembered what she told me The forest is a beautiful place at the right time The forest started screaming.
