This book is dedicated to my mom, dad, my little brother and my uncle, who gave me courage like Flora, to write this book.
With thanks to
Alex Orlowsky for helping me put my mind and heart into making this book,
and also to Michele Calvet for giving this book its magical touch.
Prologue
A young family lay in their house playing board games and laughing happily. Bryan, her father, was a kind man who would do anything for his child. The mom, Kassidy, was a woman with a big heart and a had soft spot for her daughter. And finally, Flora… a strong girl who could go through things fast and forget about them, or so her family thought. Soon a storm rolled in and Flora ran outside and met Hunter, who was already t here.
Hunter how did you get here so quickly?!
The clouds showed me the way!
The clouds roared and thunder rumbled above. The frightened family huddled inside of their small house in the forest. They hated this kind of weather, except for Flora and her best friend Hunter; they were out in the rain looking up at the stars and the storm.
FLORA, HUNTER GET IN HERE!
Kassidy shouted.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Flora and Hunter were hit. They were struck by lightning.
NO!
Kassidy and Bryan screamed in vain, crying and screaming.

I woke up and groaned painfully. Every part of my body was s tiff.
Flora?
a familiar voice said.
Mother?
I said weakly.
Flora you have been sleeping for 11 years, now you are 17 years old.
I sat up.
Where are we?
I was confused.
Nothing you need to worry about dear
I looked at her. What?
then she disappeared
Mother? Mother?
Then a tall man came in. He was dark and mysterious, with a slick suit, black hair, and sharp eyes.
Who are you and what have you done to my mother and father?
I hissed unable to see his face
He simply chuckled.
I am Agent H. H stands for Howard not that your going to live long enough for that to matter. Your mother and father are dead. Now that you are awake, you will answer my questions.
The words tore through my heart like a knife. I hesitated, What does that mean? My mom’s dead? But… I just saw her a second ago! I know that was her! She isn't dead… right?
Like what? What questions?
He looked frustrated.
I ask the questions here.
I became even angrier.
Don't you talk to me like that!
I said back.
Shut your mouth and answer my questions!
he growled.
I almost jumped out of the bed. I could start to feel my muscles moving again; I got up slowly and stretched.
Done?
He rolled his eyes,
I wish I could become a fox so I could tear this man’s face to shreds. Suddenly, everyone was blinded, including me. I looked around trying to see.
What is this?
Agent H said,
Men get your guns ready
He said cautiously.
I immediately turned into a fox. I thought about what I had done. I moved an inch,
FIRE!
Yelled Agent H at his men.
The bullets shot towards me. I dodged quickly and jumped on one of the men as a bone in my leg cracked. I was in pain. I quickly stood again knowing this was a moment of life or death. I breathed heavily, hmmm, what should I do? Oh! Maybe I could get around them all and reached the light switch. At that moment, I made my plan as I ran along. Yes, good plan. I looked around and started to leap over heads jumping from one head to another as screams and shots were deposited around the room. When I finally reached the lights, I bumped my side into the switch and turned off the light. There’s nowhere to run now! Agent H!
I hissed. I felt stronger as my muscles returned to a normal state, I should try to become another animal! I will see if it works. Become a Husky? Become a Husky! Suddenly, blue swirls flowed around me, completely harmless and it gave me a sense of magic. The swirls looked looks like magic flowing around my body, giving the room a dim light for the soldiers to see that I had turned into a Husky. I could feel my powerful hind legs as I kicked a soldier and heard a weapon clatter to the floor, a few more to go. I started to run around the room and whenever I felt a body or source of heat I would kick with my hind or front legs. You could hear a weapon or two fall to the floor and maybe even groans of pain here and there. When I no longer heard anymore screams or shouts, I spent a couple minutes looking for the light switch. When I finally found it. Turning on the light I saw a shadow. I looked behind me and shrieked when I saw Agent H. I felt a rush of power throughout my body, my blood boiled, and I smirked. I growled, sending an eerie drift of silence. Since when could I ever do this… magic? I thought. I should not worry about this now. I looked at him. I hissed, leaping towards his face and knocked him down. He hit the edge of the bed, knocking himself unconscious.
Ok that time I didn’t even do anything,
I said to myself. Hmm, I want to give him a sign to remember me… oh! I know! I glared at him and with disgust in my voice I said,
This is for my mother!
I scratched him across his face diagonally.
And this one is for my father!
I scraped him a bit deeper this time, forming an X,
I watched as the blood poured from his well deserved wounds.
I hope you like your new makeover, I worked really hard on it.
I turned my back to him and strut out into the halls.
I saw the soldiers inching closer and shouting,
SOLDIERS 1,2,3,4, AND 5 GO AND PUT OUT THE POSTERS IN THE CITY GO! GO! GO!
I was confused. What did that mean? Now was not the time to figure this out. It was time to escape.
MEN AIM… AIM… AIM … FIRE!
About ten bullets flew past me. I was unusually calm and thinking sharper than ever before. Hmm let’s see what else I can do… Turn into a lion. I saw the illuminating, magical swirls go around me. I was
