    Earths Last Hope

Once upon a time, in a distant future, humanity had spread across the stars. Once a thriving planet, Earth was now suffering from a mysterious disease. Desperate for help, the crew of the Stellar Haven must help Earth find a cure while investigating a dead planet in the far-off Quazary quadrant. The Stellar Haven embarked on a perilous adventure only to discover that Earth also needed the same help as the dead planet.

The crew of The Stellar Haven was a diverse group of individuals, each with their unique skills and expertise. Engineer and Science Officer Andrew was brilliant, always tinkering with the ship's systems to keep it running smoothly. Captain Paul was a seasoned leader, known for his bravery and strategic thinking. First Officer Jessica was a skilled navigator, science officer, and mission planner, with a sharp mind and quick reflexes. Sargent Todd was the security officer, specially trained in the latest hand-to-hand combat techniques, weapons, and the latest self-defence and attack strategies. Last but certainly not least is Sargent Mueller, who oversees all the logistics. If the ship or its crew needs anything, Sergeant Mueller is the person you see, he can find anything. With its outstanding crew, the Stellar Haven is ready for anything that might come along.

    Chapter 1: The Quest Begins.

    ––––––––

The Stellar Haven has been on patrol on the far side of a distance quadrant for the past six months. They are charting the quadrant and looking for anything unusual. Andrew was scanning the atmosphere of a dead planet to see what had happened to it. He was looking for any poisonous gases in the air, or if their protective atmosphere was broken down anywhere, or if there was a sign that an asteroid might have hit it. Andrew found no sign of an asteroid hit that might have killed everything, and the atmosphere was exceptionally clean and safe to breathe, it was very stable with no openings anywhere. It showed that the air on the planet was so breathable with no toxic gases of any kind, that it was cleaner than earths air. Andrew decided to do a surface scan. When he did, he saw that there were remnants of life on the planet about three hundred years ago. There was evidence of plant life, animal life, and even an alien life form. Andrew found this very strange, he asked First Officer Jessica, Jessica, can your science team have a look at something for me? I am scanning this planet that is dead and I can not find out what happened. The atmosphere is fine and clean with no holes in it, and the air is breathable. A scan of the surface indicated that there was life not exceedingly long ago, only about three hundred years, and then suddenly, the planet just mysteriously died. Jessica said, I will take this information to my team, and we will see if we can help. Have you done a deep scan of the planet yet? Not yet, I am getting ready to do one now. It is going to take a few hours before it is done, Andrew said. Come see us when it is done, and maybe we will have something for you, maybe we will have some answers for you then, said Jessica. I will, and maybe the deep scan will shed some light on it also, replied Andrew.

    ––––––––

While Andrew was doing the deep scan of the planet, a sensor sounded, Beep, beep, beep. Andrew went to the monitor to see what it was. He saw a large anomaly below the surface. Andrew contacted Captain Paul, Sir, I think you might want to see what I have found, said Andrew. I will be right there Andrew, replied the captain. When the captain arrived at the main engineering, he asked Andrew, What have you found? I have been doing some research on this planet trying to find out why the planet just died, said Andrew. Yes, I remember you telling me about this, said the captain. Well, it has me stumped, so I asked Jessica and her team to look at the information to see if they can help. While they are looking at that information, I decided to do a deep scan of the planet, I am about halfway through, but the scanners have picked up something, it looks to be about four hundred feet below the surface and it goes down to about seven hundred feet, said Andrew. Wow, that is deep, said the captain. Yes sir, it is, also it is the size of Rhode Island back on earth. In the center, it has a large hole that is thirty-two hundred feet in diameter and is about two thousand feet deep, it looks like an exceptionally large city, and the sensors are also picking up vibrations from that area. Unfortunately, our thermal imaging scans cannot go that deep, so I can not see what is down there, Explained Andrew. That is very strange, what do you think it could be? asked the captain. Andrew replied, I think when the planet started to die, some of the inhabitants of the planet went underground, built a place to live, and over time, their homes got bigger and bigger. This is interesting Andrew, I am going to contact Admiral Hawkins and see what he thinks and see if he wants us to investigate. I will let you know what he says, said Captain Paul. Very well sir, replied Andrew.

    ––––––––

Captain Paul contacted Admiral Hawkins, Admiral, we have found a planet in the Quazary quadrant that is dead on the surface, but our deep scans have revealed a deep underground abnormality that is quite large. We do not have all our scan results back yet, but we did pick up a vibration coming from the site. What would you like us to do? The admiral replied, After you get all your information back, and you think you can investigate the abnormality without any danger to your crew or ship, then I think you should have a look. If there is nothing there, then it would be a suitable time to get some soil samples. Will do admiral, we will let you know what we find, said the captain.

    ––––––––

In the meantime, captain, we have a strange situation here on earth. We have had several reports of a strange medical problem. Some people on Earth are experiencing seizures. What makes it strange is that it seems like people are slowing down to the point that they stop moving, and then they have a seizure and die. We have had sixteen cases over the past four months worldwide so far. Our doctors and scientists have no idea what is causing this, said the admiral. Wow, that sounds bad admiral, perhaps we can help, if you send the information, I will have First Officer Jessica and her science team have a look to see if they can spot something, replied the captain. I will, said the admiral, I will have it sent now, good luck captain, and Godspeed.

    ––––––––

    Chapter 2: The Alien Encounter.

    ––––––––

As the Stellar Haven orbited the planet, Andrew was waiting for the deep scan to finish. While he was waiting, he went to see how Jessica and her team were doing on the medical problem from Earth. First Officer, I was looking over the medical information from Earth and it seems very strange, Andrew said. Yes, it does, said Jessica. We are comparing blood types and demographics of each patient’s history, and nothing seems to match up. Their blood work looks to be out of wack, it looks like their brain cell energy is slowing down, and they are not able to communicate with each other," said Jessica.

    ––––––––

After a while, one of the engineering crew radioed Andrew, Sir, the deep scan of the planet just finished. Thank you, I will be right there, replied Andrew. Jessica, I will let you know what I find in the scans, said Andrew. Sounds good. We will keep working on this, said Jessica. Andrew studied the scans and radioed the captain, Captain sir, there seems to be only one large abnormality under the surface of the planet. I think we should send a probe down to the surface to take some soil samples to see if there are any microorganisms on the planet before we go down. We should cover all possibilities of danger. After all the planet died of something. That sounds good Andrew, make it so, the captain said.

    ––––––––

Andrew sent the probe to the surface to get some soil samples. He sent the probe to a place that looked like a city from long ago to do some ground-level scans. The probe was picking up some readings from around the city and relaying them back to the ship. Andrew was monitoring the probe signal, and what he saw startled him. Captain, you better get down here, I have some very strange images to show you, Andrew said hastily. On my way, said the captain. When the captain got to Andrew, Andrew said, Captain, this is going to surprise you, look at the probe’s images. The captain looked at the monitor and his mouth just opened. Andrew, what the heck is that inside that building, said the captain. Andrew said, It looks like a body preserved inside a room in that city about ten miles from the underground anomaly. Get First Officer Jessica up here to see what we can do, said the captain. Right away captain, said Andrew.

    ––––––––

Andrew radioed the first officer, Jessica, I need you to come to engineering immediately. The captain and I need you to look at something. On my way, said Jessica. When Jessica got to the engineering department, the captain and Andrew met her. Jessica, have you ever seen anything like this? asked the captain. Jessica looked at the monitor and gasped, "Oh my god, I have never seen anything
