About this ebook
It is possible and easy to embrace sustainable tourism into your travel plans, starting right NOW.
Many practices involve some pre-planning, which is where this book comes in. This guide serves as your essential pre-travel toolkit, paving the way for a journey that conscientiously engages with the six sectors of today's travel industry.
These sectors encompass: Accommodations, Adventure, Recreation & Exploration, Attractions and Event Conferencing, Cruising, Food and Beverage, and, last but not least, Transportation.
This user-friendly book will guide you through many decisions, you may never have considered to be a responsible traveler. These decisions, while seemingly minor, contribute substantially to being a conscientious traveler. A slight shift in your perspective, coupled with mindful packing, can make a big difference in how you show up. These deliberate choices not only resonate with your tour operators but, more crucially, earn the respect and gratitude of the locals of the destinations you visit and explore.

Sustainability is not a label or a badge; its a practice, a journey toward an ideal. Let's stop sprinkling the term like parsley, hoping it magically transforms everything into a greener, healthier version.
Catherine Germier-Hamel
Runaway #overtourism is a menacing fact of life. I say this with certainty because I survive in South Florida, USA. I live within an hour of three international airports and two international cruise ports. The tourists swarm upon us like bees during our six-month tourist season.
Each day, from November 15th until two weeks after Easter, I must leave for work a half hour earlier. I cuss under my breath (okay, I shout, too) because of the heavy traffic. Because of the drivers who don’t know where they are going. Because they feel entitled to make up their own road rules. Because of the lines at the gas stations. Because my home is once again everyone else's playground.
I drive with my fists clenched tight around my steering wheel, so I don’t stick up the wrong finger and offend a tourist in a moment
