    INTRODUCTION

    In a world that never stops moving, it seems as though the demands on women, particularly busy moms, are at an all-time high. Juggling countless responsibilities, from career commitments to family obligations, it’s no wonder we often find ourselves overwhelmed and stretched thin.

    In 2011, so much was on my plate. My mother-in-law passed away in February. Around the latter part of March, my husband took some time off from work to be with his father, who was in hospice care. Our daughters, my mom, and I drove two-and-a-half hours each way on the weekends and spent time with them.

    I had a mountain of responsibilities on my shoulders. While my husband spent time with his father, I prepared to move almost 150 miles from my mother’s home into my father-in-law’s home as we all had discussed. My father-in-law was a planner and had his affairs in order. My husband was to inherit and continue to run his dad’s business. A loyal son, he honored all of his father’s wishes.

    It’s a blessing being his wife. I love that man with all of my heart, so of course I wanted to do everything I could to support him. On top of that, I had my hands full with three young daughters, ages five, three, and two, and my fifty-four-year-old mom, who was battling young-onset
