Introduction

When I wrote Digital Smiles, I was going through a period of disillusionment with the world and humankind. I was saddened because of the wars, especially the loss of life that included children. I was disillusioned with American society and the toxic use of social media and how it has led to a breakdown of civility and society. I was disappointed by rampant disinformation. So many people are caught in the grip and addiction of social media.

There are very few spaces where I choose to offer an opinion. I am of the belief that opinions don’t change outcomes, our actions do, and it begins with changing ourselves, rather than through the expectations
