1 - How was the daily life in Ancient Egypt?

DAILY LIFE
In ancient Egypt, daily life was complex and very varied, depending mainly on the social class to which one belonged.
What daily life was like for the majority of the population (peasants and artisans)
● Everyday life was marked by hard work in the fields, in the workshops or on construction sites.
● Food was basic, consisting mainly of bread, beer and vegetables.
● The houses were simple, made of mud and bricks, with few furniture and utensils.
● Clothing was made of linen and cotton, and usually consisted of tunics and sandals.
● Access to education and healthcare was limited.
● Social life revolved around family, religion and local festivities.
What daily life was like for the higher classes (priests, scribes and nobles)
● Life was much more luxurious and comfortable.
● The diet was rich and varied, including meat, fruits and vegetables.
● The houses were large and well equipped, with lots of furniture and utensils.
● Clothes were made from finer materials, such as silk and fine linen, and were often adorned with jewelry.
● Access to education and health was privileged.
● Social life was richer and more diverse.
Their days were filled with various activities such as participating in banquets, games and cultural events.

Considered the personification of the god Horus on Earth, pharaohs played a key role in Ancient Egyptian society.
His functions covered diverse aspects of Egyptian life, from politics and religion to economics and justice.

He was the absolute ruler of Egypt, with power over all lands and people. He commanded the army, appointed officials and administered the country.
● Legislator
The pharaoh was responsible for creating and enforcing laws, ensuring order and justice in society.
