About this ebook

Welcome to your new Voyage Experience guide: ‘Khao Lak, Phang Nga and surrounding area',  which we hope will help you discover a part of this beautiful country that is less known by tourists and less detailed in travel guides. Yet, in this corner of Thailand, there are paradisiacal beaches, stunning karst landscapes, lush nature, warm and welcoming people, and a culinary richness that will delight your taste buds. This vast region has a lot to offer everyone, from families to couples seeking romance, to seasoned backpackers. It truly is an ideal destination to spend a fantastic holiday! A blend of culture, nature, and gastronomy that we have greatly appreciated through several unforgettable trips, and we want to share these experiences with you. We returned to this area and explored it extensively for several weeks.. We added our new discoveries and corrected some information that changed in our guide about Phuket and its region, but we thought it would be a good idea to write a guide specifically about Khao Lak, Phang Nga and the surrounding area  because few guides detail them. We really liked it and were happy to be able to come back to discover more!

This paperback is based on an ebook that you can get for free on your smartphone or tablet (see at the end of the book for details) and where you can use all the features explained in the following section: How to navigate the eGuide, and which also contains the fully functional navigation modes called GeoNav, PhotoNav and IcoNav. The eGuide offers you a different approach to travel, between a logbook and a classic guide. As you can imagine, we don't have a team like Lonely Planet, so you won't find a lot of accommodation or restaurant addresses in this e-book. Instead, we share our travels and experiences with you. Please note that the electronic version functions almost like a website and does not require an internet connection to be used. (unless you want to access OpenStreetMap, Google Maps and the other hyperlinks we give you throughout the book). Bon voyage!

    Yours sincerely,

If you are French or European, a visa is not required if your stay is less than 30 days. However, this duration can vary and return to 45 days or every 3 months as before the COVID health crisis. A simple stamp is affixed to your passport with the exit date, which must not be exceeded (so plan a stay of 29 days like us, if you don't want to have a (bad) surprise and be forced to apply for another visa).
