CHAPTER ONE: THE GLORY

A lady found herself engulfed in a black hue, the thick darkness veiling the surroundings of a mysterious jungle. Gasping, It appears that she has been wandering in the jungle for a considerable period, sensing an elusive presence trailing her—something undefined, without a distinct form or identity. Finally she sought a way out and eventually faced the unseen calm river and a bench. In an effort to pause the pursuit, she decided to take a momentary break, seating herself on the bench, facing the river, with a slight moisture in the air. There was a discernible chill on the edge of the river, the noticeable chill prompted her to cover herself with both of her hands.

As her gasping subsided after a prolonged chase, she glanced back at the jungle, only to find nothing there. She stood alone on the edge of the beach, bewildered by the sudden change in the scenario. Confused, she started to look around but found no one in sight.

Suddenly, a movement in the calm river captured her attention. She looked all around but found nothing. Soon, a fish popped up, adorned with golden stripes, sparkled in the serene night, its face breaking the surface as it stared intently at her. It dipped below and resurfaced, similar to relaying a message from someone within the river, she has arrived, and I can convey the message now.

Are you the one who was chosen, to fulfill the work that you are going to be entrusted with? the fish asked.

She glanced around, finding it highly unusual that a fish was addressing her.

Yes, you, the lady on the bench. I am talking to you, the fish echoed.

Perplexed, she questioned, I am what?

The Chosen one for the work that you are going to be entrusted with in the near future, the fish replied.

I have no idea what you are talking about, the lady responded, still trying to comprehend the surreal encounter.

Have you ever seen a fish talking to anyone? the fish asked.

Never, the lady replied.

I understand. It is quite uncommon for me to appear in someone’s imagination, the fish described.

Am I imagining you or dreaming of you? the lady asked.

Yes, you are imagining. But have you ever thought that dreams are actually the mind’s imagination? the fish explained.

Well, certainly, the lady replied.

You call them dreams, I would use the word imagination instead, so you can go wherever you want. You can do whatever you want, the fish suggested.

Certainly, the lady replied.

Like, have you ever imagined a fish talking? the fish amused.

Never. But wait? the lady stopped.

You said I am the chosen one for something? the lady asked.

Certainly, the fish replied.

Chosen for what? the lady asked.

Today is the day, you will get to know about this. You better wake up now, the fish replied.

Hey, wait! I have been imagining some weird imaginations for a very long time, and now you are a talking fish. Please tell me what is going on? the lady halted.

I understand your hesitation, but you will be habitual of it, the fish responded.

Just a couple of minutes before, I was wandering in the jungle trying to find a way out before sitting on the bench, but when I turned back, nothing was there, the lady stammered.

I know, as I said earlier, it is not a dream, it is your imagination, the fish replied.

What? You knew about that? the lady asked.

Everything my dear, Fish replied.

All right then, if I am imagining you in my mind, I can command you to tell me the rest, the lady ordered.

Of course, you can. But wake up first, otherwise I will pour some water on you, the fish directed.

No, please don’t do that, answer my question first, the lady pleaded.

I have given enough for today, will meet you soon in another form, the fish replied.

Before she could utter another word, the fish used her fins and splashed water on her. She woke up in surprise, only to find that her baby boy had poured water on her using a cup and chuckles.

Oh boy! I was so close today, you did this again, the lady told her boy.

The baby smiled and went to the other side of the room, and a lady arrived.

You are so late, Ms. Flower, a lady servant said to her.

I know, Xinn, Ms. Flower replied.

Excuse me, madam, but may I inquire why you were sleeping at 5 in the evening, when the event is about to begin? Is everything alright? Xinn asked in a concerned tone.

I wasn't feeling well, Ms. Flower replied, addressing the concern with a brief explanation.

You better hurry and get yourself dressed on this auspicious day, Xinn advised Ms. Flower.

Ms. Flower yawned and went to the mirror and examined herself.

I must lose a bit of my tummy, Ms. Flower said, looking at herself.

Both gazing and conversing in the mirror, she touched her stomach from upside down and tied the knots of her bronze gown.

No, Madam, you are perfect, Xinn reassured her.

The lady was young, but due to pregnancy and the birth of a child, she had gained a little weight around her stomach.

But where is my dress? Ms. Flower asked.

Oh sorry! My apology, Xinn apologized.

Let it be, I will manage, Ms. Flower said.

With a snap of her finger and woosh sound, a dress appeared in the mirror's reflection and on her, a pale lemon-yellow dress with a black belt, consisting of a sleeveless midi dress with pearl buttons, a millinery hat adorned with a bow, a box clutch, and gray pumps.

Well, it is good but not that good for the day, Xinn commented.

Yes, you are right, Ms. Flower agreed.

With another snap of her fingers, her clothes changed, now pink.

I know it is good, but a girl's color is like that, Ms. Flower pondered.

Hmm..., Xinn acknowledged.

Let me make a dazzling outfit for this day, Ms. Flower echoed.

With a snap of both her fingers, she now turned into a royal golden shining dress, and all her attire transformed into a princess's golden dress.

Now, that’s how my lady should look, Xinn appreciated.

Oh! Thank you so much, Ms. Flower replied.

You better match with the radiance of this evening, Xinn advised her.

All set now, Ms. Flower confirmed.

I will get Ian ready, and you better meet Mr. Growl, as I have received his Callimo wanting you to recall him, Xinn informed Ms. Flower.

Let me Callimo him, Ms. Flower said.

Xinn went to the other room where Ian was playing to get him ready for the day. Ms. Flower placed her left hand beside her head and called out, Mind X Mr. Growl.

Before her, in the mirror, an elderly owl soon made its appearance.

We are running behind schedule for the function, Mr. Growl conveyed to Ms. Flower.

I am fully prepared, Ms. Flower assured Mr. Growl.

How much time you will take to be here, the function is about to start and it's your honored day, Mr. Growl urgently asked Ms. Flower.

"With a swoosh, she materialized just behind Mr. Growl and within the palace.

Not going to take any more minutes, Ms. Flower declared to Growl.

Ah! Brilliant dress chosen for the day, Mr. Growl complimented.

Thank you so much, Xinn also appreciated it too, Ms. Flower confirmed.

By the way, you also look good in this red royal soldier attire, Ms. Flower complimented Mr. Growl.
