2018 - POETIC THOUGHTS
With deep love from my Golden Cage
Poetic thoughts – no more, no less
A past life – let us turn the page
With deep love from my Golden Cage
Once I was young but grew in age
From happiness to inner stress
With deep love from my Golden Cage
Poetic thoughts – no more, no less
THE NINETIES
In many ways it was a very interesting decade that has brought all of us a lot of wealth and progress. Personal Computers became affordable for everybody, the internet connected us to people from all over the world and introduced us to every available information, Social Media platforms began to fill the emptiness of our lives and we should not forget even the most beneficial invention of all times started during the nineties: our mobile phone – just a cable free phone at the beginning and meanwhile a small smart portable computer from which our modern life and welfare depends on for it opens us doors to still unknown freedoms.
This last decade of the century also had a lot of different musical possibilities to offer that we don’t want to miss nowadays. The rise and fall of unnumbered boy-bands and girl-groups like Take That, Backstreet Boys and the Spice Girls bewitched our feelings; the first rappers made Hip-Hop chart-friendly, created bad boy heroes which annoyed our parents; techno, rave and house music united the thrilled youth on the dance-floors all over the world.
Janet Jackson brought us more or less radio-friendly sexual beats for the ears, Whitney Houston enlightened us with one of the most successful movie soundtracks of history and we could watch her fall from grace and predicted her doom; Michael Jackson made us face the dark side of wealth, before he got lost in a world of scandals and two unsuccessful marriages, nevertheless he rewarded – or cursed, depends on our views – us with three successful records and the news about his fatherhood.
Not only the music industry created one new trend after another, the film industries did the same, especially Hollywood compulsively changed which led to new unimaginable TV and movie experiences. Series and blockbusters were produced, more expensive and more extravagantly than ever before. The film companies started in the digital age. Movies like Titanic, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List and the beginning of the Star Wars franchise first three episodes documented this progress. At the same time the TV shows and series changed the society. Sexual temptation was no more a taboo, thanks to Baywatch (for example) and more and more people gathered together to watch reality talk shows as well as the return of the Star Trek franchise.
Everything got more realistic and influenced our lives as never before – at least as far as I can give an opinion on it. Of course I cannot say how the decades before worked for those who experienced them. I know the Eighties and the last years of the Seventies because I was there, but still too young to recognize how those decades might have influenced me and all the other ‘survivors’. However, I do remember the Nineties.
May it has been the internet, the media news or whatever, we suddenly got aware of many problems and diseases. We started our mission to ‘heal the world’, to make our planet get a better place to live. We stood together as one world when the two German nations united, when the cold war broke away from our daily life; we laughed out loud when the President of the United States of America almost fell from grace thanks to a sexual affair he had in the Oval Office. In many states around the world homosexuality became legal and human rights spread out to women rights and children’s rights. The world changed to the better.
Certainly not everything was good, it never is, however the negative events of this decade has not settled permanently in my mind. I still can remember the devastating Earthquake in Los Angeles, 1994, or the burning Asylum Homes in different German cities, 1991. Apart of those small negative experiences, the worst should come after the decade ended. During the Nineties the world was still good!
2016 - With LOVE from the GOLDEN CAGE
(Version 1)
Sent with love from a golden cage
The mind of someone underage
From a boy with a loving heart
Who’s longing for his skills to start
No acting in film or on stage
But his words will cover your page
Intelligent and perhaps smart
From the golden cage…
One day he left his home in rage
To escape what should have been his stage
He tried all to find his own part
May it be easy or damn hard
Adventurous life fills the page
Sent with love from the golden cage
(Version 2)
Family values
Forced into an unloved life
No chance to break out
They chose, they decided
What my life would be about
They locked me inside
They said it’s the best for me
‘Cause I’m underage
Sad will be my words, but sent
With love from his golden cage
(Version 3)
They tried to prepare me for entering the stage
Gave me no choice, trained me from a very young age
I fought in despair, I fought day in, day out
My skills are given with love from the golden cage
Parents can be cruel, they had made their decision
It doesn’t matter that they woke up hateful rage
They never understood what my rage was about
And my future would never be on their stage
However, I managed my path with precision
My skills are given with love from the golden cage
Forgotten the times where we all fought very loud
My skills are given with love from the golden cage
1992 - PARADISE FOR EVERYONE
It is winter now
And everywhere is snow
Children are building snowmen
Christmas Eve in front of the door
A Christmas tree is covering the floor
And the children are excited
Merry Christmas and a happy new year
May be peace and freedom be everywhere
Let there be paradise for everyone
1992 - AROUND THE WORLD
Around the world
Let me fly with you that’s all I wanna do
Around the world with you
Let me go with you that’s all I wanna do
Around the wild wide world with you
Around the world
To see new places that’s all I wanna do
Around the world with you
To meet new faces that’s all I wanna do
Around the wild wide world with you
1992 - GHOST SHOW DANCE
(Ghost Story, unfinished musical)
Little ghosts are dancing everywhere
Because the big band’s playing there
Ghost-Show-Dance
Little ghosts are running in the hall
And they’re dancing through the wall
Ghost-Show-Dance
Ghost kids are happy
Ghost kids act sappy
Bring joy to every party
The big ghosts aren’t dancing everywhere
They prefer sitting around there
Ghost-Show-Dance
The big ghosts are dancing in the hall
Or resting up on the wall
Ghost-Show-Dance
Ghost kids are happy
Ghost kids act sappy
Bring joy to every party
1992 - WAKE UP! STAND UP!
(Ghost Story, unfinished musical)
Wake up! Wake up
Come on, start your show
You, there in the bed
Stand up, stand up
Come on, stand up now
The sun is shining
And the moon is gone
A new day has won
Outside in the burning sun
You can have much more fun
Well…
Wake up! Wake up
Come on, start your show
You, there in the bed
Stand up, stand up
Come on, stand up now
1992 - ROCK ME DUCK
Well you were down in the jungle club
Sweet atmosphere in that heartbreak pub
You asked me if I would dance with you
I said yes and put your hand on mine
There was nothing else to do
And so we danced the whole time
We wanna rock, we wanna roll
We wanna rock and roll
Rock, rock, rock me duck
Roll, roll, roll me duck
You are the rock and roll duck
She held my hand and told me her name
Daisy like the girlfriend of my comic star
Until midnight we were hot like a flame
And the burning adventure wasn’t far
We both had crazy feeling and couldn’t see
That was made only for you and me, baby
We wanna rock, we wanna roll
We wanna rock and roll
Rock, rock, rock me duck
Roll, roll, roll me duck
You are the rock and roll duck
1992 - HELLO I LOVE YOU
Hello, I love you, do you love me too
Will you stay with me and be my baby
Hello, I love you more than my life
And would like to marry you, baby
Tell me, will you become my wife
Because I love you endlessly
Hello, I love you more than a pearl
And would love to make love to you, baby
Would you like to have a boy or girl
Because I love you endlessly
Hello, I love you I wanna scream
So darling will you marry me tomorrow
You in white, me in black, what a dream
Don’t look back; we are out of the sorrow
1992 - GOODBYE
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye my friend
Here in this land I sing this song to wish you goodbye
Our lives have to go on and on, my friend
This time with you had been so wonderful
And I hope we can see each other again
This goodbye is breaking my heart
Please, don’t forget my name
This goodbye is nothing but pain
Please, never forget me
Now I have to walk away
But with me, you have a home forever
You gave me a meal, a drink, a bay
So that I’ll never forget you
This goodbye is breaking my heart
Please, don’t forget my name
This goodbye is nothing but pain
Please, never forget me
I wish you every luck in this world
You made my life complete
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye my friend
My luck conquers your need
1993 - CHRISTMAS WITH YOU
Christmas is a wonderful time
Children are learning their rhyme
The calendar hangs on the wall
On the street we’re greeting all
And children build snowmen
It’s time for the lord and his fans
Tall and small are fighting with snowballs
And children are writing their wish letter
So summer time cannot be better
When the winter is sunny
Everybody will be funny
And feels oh so good
Because the day of god
The white city looks true
It’s Christmas with you
Christmas with you
Everybody is excited and works hard
Christmas time is the time of love in our hearts
We have to clean our home
And nobody would like to be alone
When outside is a wild snowstorm
We will cook our cookies in a Christmas form
When the winter is sunny
Everybody will be funny
And feels oh so good
Because the day of god.
The white city looks true
It’s Christmas with you
Christmas with you
It’s Christmas with you
How do you do
It’s Christmas with you
And I love you
It’s Christmas with you
Just Christmas with you
When the winter is sunny
Everybody will be funny
And feels oh so good
Because the day of god.
The white city looks true
It’s Christmas with you
Christmas with you
1993 - FATHER CHRISTMAS
It was Christmas in our town
A December where we had snow
And the candles were burning down
Poems children had to know
A white Christmas time
And a knocking on our front door
A view on the watch
And then she went across the floor
She opened and shouted for me
Her mouth wide open and a scream was free
Oh honey, stop shouting loud
Father Christmas is me
Without an angle team
Father Christmas is me
You see me in disguise
Father Christmas is me
Everything is all right
Father Christmas is there
I said in care
Billy was in his own room
And couldn’t stop his dream
‘Cause the time was gone too soon
So he couldn’t hear her scream
Smiling, I went in
And my wife fetched our young son
Christmas should begin
With the heavenly Christian fun
Billy came and began to cry
This three year old boy was too shy
Oh babe you must not cry
Father Christmas is me
I’m your dad, don’t be shy
Father Christmas is me
You see me in disguise
Father Christmas is me
Everything is all right
Father Christmas is there
I said in care
I put off my red disguise
And Billy saw his dad
And got his first big surprise
This eve no one was sad
The Christmas show was fantastic
But suddenly
A voice whispered through the attic
Remember Father Christmas is me
1993 - MICHELLE MY LOVE
Michelle, my love, you’re just too much
All night long, we couldn’t get enough
She was the best girl, a real treasure
For a lonely boy under pressure
Oh Michelle my love
With a throbbing heart we met for a special night
And the porter gave us our key, you hold me tight
Like two monkeys we danced happily through the room
Where you bewitched my heart, but it was gone too soon
What a feeling warmed my loving heart
Never wanna live apart, may our flame always start
Michelle, my love, you’re just too much
All night long, we couldn’t get enough
She was the best girl, a real treasure
For a lonely boy under pressure
Oh Michelle my love
You asked me soon, darling can we two go
