Chapter 1

Congressional Representative Richard Stanton’s Home

Georgetown, DC

The Offer

R

ichard's twelve guests were seated in his dining room eating dinner. These twelve were members of a congressional evangelical group. This congressional caucus was an offshoot of the original ‘Tea Party’ set up during 2009. It was not so long ago their numbers were greater with a firm voice. Attitudes changed as their group shrank to 40 members. However, these twelve Richard trusted, for their lives reflected the character of Christ. Richard sought to see their level of devotion in these trying times. 

You are all here so I can share news we need to take action on immediately, as they listened intently.

Enoch has contacted and entrusted me to select members of our caucus who truly believe in Christ. Each of you has been selected for consideration. With what Enoch instructed me to share, it is imperative you make an immediate decision. Your choice will affect your family and the United States of America. Jesus asked His disciples to follow Him in Matthew 16, verses 24 and 25.

Richard picked up his Bible to read the passage to them.

Jesus told His followers, if anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

Richard placed the Bible on the table and saw every eye riveted on him. He now had their attention.

As we are aware, next week our Nation’s capital will reopen after being rebuilt. President Cain will give his first ‘State of the Union’ message, a week from today. Enoch informed me after his speech, Cain’s henchmen will kill every member of the government who attends the event. This includes members of the Department of Justice, the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court, and Cabinet members. The only survivors will be his announced Vice President and selected cabinet members not attending.

Gasps filled the room. Their reactions were as Richard's when Enoch told him the narrative.

Cain is planning to kill every one of us? Michael Adkins, congressional representative from Georgia, inquired.

Sadly, that is true, Michael. 

How, Richard? another Congressperson asked?

Enoch told me of their plans. So, I believe his warning to be the truth.

What are you suggesting, Richard? Don’t we need to tell someone? The FBI, the CIA, Capital Police, Tom insisted.

Notifying authorities will not help. Remember during one of our President's administrations, when the FBI, CIA and the DOJ tried to unseat the President? Every governmental agency is part of their plan. If they execute their scheme, this will give Cain absolute power. Leaving is a tough choice. Yet, not taking Enoch’s offer means each of us will be assassinated.

You are saying we have a choice? Tom asked.

A way out from Enoch is what is offered, and yes, you have a choice.

What is his offer?

Tom, Enoch has offered us sanctuary at Eden II, where they are living. He believes since we represent ten states, we can build on their effort to discredit Cain, by offering the hope of Jesus to all Americans. We know who Cain is. He belongs to Satan. However, we have not been overly outspoken about our beliefs. By taking Enoch’s offer, we can aid Eden II and assist in broadcasting the good news of Christ. Our group is known nationwide for our Christian stance. We will be an influence at Eden II, pointing out the lies of Cain and his soon to be One World Government.

When are we to leave? another asked.

Tonight… after dinner, Richard stated calmly.

Their reaction was as he expected. They started interrupting each other as each demanded answers. After a few minutes, Richard held both hands up in acknowledgement of their concerns. The chattering stopped.

Please consider what Enoch offered. This is all I can tell you. You need to make your decision tonight, and this is what you must do. Go home, pack one suitcase per person for each member of your immediate family. This only includes your spouse and any minor children who live with you. No other family members. No phone calls, no goodbyes, no nothing. We cannot risk detection, or they will round us up. If they catch us, they will dispose of us.

You are saying they will kill us? Carletta of Minnesota asked as she shakily swallowed deep inside her throat.

Kill us, imprison us, make us disappear. They have the resources to make it happen. I refer to President Stevenson’s broadcasts from Eden II, describing how ruthless they are.

Richard’s warning sunk in. He saw signs of fear, and others were stunned.

You are to return here within two hours. We have a tight window to decide. The clock is ticking.

Are my daughter, her husband, and my grandchildren welcome? South Carolina congressional representative Jerry Wilen asked.

As I stated, they cannot come. I am sorry.

The room became quiet as they considered the consequences of Richard's answer. Most were staring at their partially eaten plates of food. Richard compassionately understood their emotional anguish over the prospect of losing their lives and family. He decided to be blunt with the awful truth.

We will die if we don’t take advantage of Enoch’s offer. He has never been wrong. We can effectively help more people by going to Eden II. Being dead doesn’t aid in sharing our faith, promoting the Gospel, and reaping the harvest. My wife and young daughter are packed, ready to leave. I expect each of you to return. If you are not coming, please tell me now.

No one acknowledged him. Many started asking questions of each other. He replied to a concern by quoting scripture.

Our decision boils down to deciding as the Apostles did; when Christ came asking, ‘Will you follow me?’ They left everything they had and followed him. The good news is your immediate families are welcome. They will be under God’s protection during these times of Tribulation. So… make up your minds and no more questions, please. 

The entire group pondered their own destiny as they left one by one. Becky, Richard’s wife, seemed troubled.

How many will return? she asked.

All of them, except one. Only eleven families, plus our family, will heed the call.

Who told you only eleven will heed the call?

Enoch told me.

Do you know which one? What if this one person calls someone who may threaten our plans?

No, I don’t know which one. We need to place our faith in Enoch’s words. He assured me he has plans to handle any issues which come up during our escape. We need to put these questions aside and move forward. For now, I need you to take your car with our children to the rendezvous point. 

Richard...

We will be okay, Becky, trust in God, Richard said, stopping her in mid-sentence.

God protects us. I know this in my heart. I need to stay here to give instructions on where to go as the others return. I did not tell them before they left, we are meeting Enoch somewhere else.

With tears streaming down her cheeks, Becky walked slowly upstairs to gather their daughter. Richard walked into their living room and sat in his favorite chair one last time to wait for the others. He contemplated their decision to leave everything behind. Leaving everything is a hard choice.

Chapter 2

Congressional Representative Tom Wilkes Home

Alexandria, VA

Deathly Decision

T

he drive from Richard’s house was difficult. Tom was torn between going, staying, and fighting. He understood what Richard shared with the group. Something inside of him still believed the United States Government was in charge, not Cain. Part of him wanted to go. His mind wanted to notify the FBI of Cain’s intentions to kill nearly everyone associated with the government. Tom was wrestling with the issue when he arrived home. He parked his car in the garage and walked inside. His wife, Kathy, greeted him with a kiss.

Was your dinner meeting productive, Tom? She asked.

Something strange occurred after dinner, and I am reeling from the shock of what Richard suggested we do.

Tom shared the details with his wife and the direction he felt they should take. He told Kathy he felt he was turning his back on his country. Kathy listened intently and agreed with his assessment.

Tom, I don’t think we should go. I feel uncomfortable going to a strange place, giving up the life we have, our friends, our home, the children’s school. We recently returned from evacuating DC before the hurricanes and living with your parents. We have our home, our life… well, everything is here. I cannot think of any reason we should go. We believe in Jesus, but I think Richard is taking this too far.

I understand your feelings. We both feel the same way. Maybe saying something to the right person can stop this plot. We need someone who can and will help. 

Who can you trust, Richard? Who do you know at the FBI or CIA?

I have some contacts there. By blowing the whistle on Cain’s plans against Congress, it will not be necessary for any of our group to escape to Eden II.

I agree with you. You have friends at the FBI and CIA, we have had dinner with some of them in the past. They will listen to you, I am certain.

Tom turned from his wife and walked toward his home office. He stopped and turned back to Kathy.

I know someone to trust, and I know he will support us.

Tom sat behind his desk, opened his laptop, and brought up his contact file. He dialed FBI Director Marcus Schmidt. He left an urgent message for Marcus, then hung up. Tom leaned back, looking at the ceiling. They graduated from Harvard together. He would take his call seriously.

Chapter 3

Vacant Farmhouse

Outside Haymarket, Virginia

The Rescue

B

ecky and her daughter left early to the rendezvous point, as Richard waited for the others to return. As each arrived with their families, he gave directions to the farmhouse outside of Haymarket, Virginia. When all except one arrived, Richard locked up his home for the last time, backed his car out of the garage, and headed to the farmhouse. The rendezvous point was a 30-minute drive at midnight. Fortunately, traffic was light driving across I-66.

Richard reached the farmhouse, exited his vehicle, and walked back to an old barn structure. The barn's foundation was still there. Richard saw Enoch loading people into what looked like a suspended computer mouse. Richard assumed these were the transports Enoch told him about. He motioned for Richard to come over to him as he finished loading a group onto the second transport.

Richard, there is one more group and only 30 minutes between flights. Your wife and children have already left.

They watched the transport doors automatically close. The two transports lifted vertically, then disappeared into the night sky. Enoch sat on the barn's foundation, motioning for Richard to join him.

I take it Richard, one from your group has not shown?

Unfortunately, yes. As you told me before, one would back out. Tom chose not to come. I was hoping you were wrong, and everyone came.

Tom is torn apart inside. His actions tonight do not mean he no longer believes. He has a different idea of protecting his family and country. He will soon find out he has made a grave mistake. We can no longer help him, for his free will did not align with his spirit. We do not need a ‘doubting Thomas.’ The decision to come was based on pure faith. He chose to not follow.

I understand Enoch. I will miss him.

Now you realize why I instructed you to not tell them the rendezvous point at your dinner. I am sure the FBI is at your home as we speak. We cannot be 100 percent sure you were not followed here. The FBI moves quickly when they need to. However, if they decide to interfere, I am ready.

Not to change the subject, but I notice you look dressed for a battle. I see the crossed swords on your back and the curved knife attached to your clothing. You look like an ancient warrior.

I won’t need the weapons, Richard; I have the staff of Moses. The book of Revelation states I breathe fire out of my mouth. The actual power is in His staff I carry.

"I remember the passage, Enoch. Revelation 11. If anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouths and devours their enemies.

This is correct. I grew up in the Midwest long before I became Enoch again. Earlier in my life there used to be traveling revivals. My family attended several where the evangelists were fire and brimstone preachers. They scared the pants off anyone who did not know the Lord. I speak the same way with fire and brimstone, as does Elijah. The words from our mouths are the Word of the Lord. Do not expect me to breathe out fire, like a dragon. Won’t happen.

I admit those verses confused me. In a movie I watched on the end times, the Witnesses used fire to consume several soldiers shooting at them. I thought the scene was funny. The fire coming from their mouths looked like sparklers on the fourth of July.

They continued discussing the power of the staff. Enoch stopped speaking, looking toward the eastern sky.

Do you hear something, Richard? It sounds like a vibration, reverberating in the air.

Now that you mention it, there is something approaching in the distance. It sounds like approaching helicopter blades.

"I agree. They must have got to Tom before you left. Someone may have followed you.

Enoch looked toward the approaching helicopters, then turned back to Richard.

Richard, move the remaining people and yourself into the shed, pointing to a small building 50 yards away.

I can help Enoch with stopping whoever is coming.

Do as you are told. Go to the shed with the others. I will deal with these intruders myself.

As instructed, Richard rounded up the others, gathered their possessions, then quickly ran to the shed. Enoch was standing in the open field, staring at the approaching aircraft. He heard several sirens, suggesting police or agency cars had turned off the highway and were approaching the farmhouse. From the east, two Blackhawks arrived in tandem, hovering above the old barn’s foundation. Their searchlights enveloped Enoch. The Blackhawk door opened as an agent with a bullhorn gave a command to Enoch.

Stand down. We are landing; everyone here is under arrest. Any attempt to flee will be met with deadly force!

Enoch responded with a thunderous voice, louder than the helicopter's blades.

Leave this place and save yourselves. Your continued presence will cause you to meet the Lord God Himself this very night. I will soon cast you into the fires of hell.

Several armed soldiers peered out from the helicopter's open doors. Shaken, the bullhorn’s operator was surprised at how loud Enoch’s voice projected. He repeated his demands on the authority of the FBI and Homeland Security.

We don’t believe in your hocus pocus, Enoch. We have agents circled around you, so surrender at once. 

The arriving authorities shined their vehicle lights on the field and farmhouse. They took up positions on all sides of the farmhouse, their weaponry focused on Enoch. Other agents covered the front and back doors of the home. Above, the Blackhawks hovered, blades chopping the air, the thump-thump-thump vibrating in the air. The aircraft's spotlights still focused on Enoch, standing in the open field. Enoch repeated his threat to the occupants of the helicopter and agents by the farmhouse. It was a Mexican standoff. The Blackhawks continued hovering above Enoch, as he stood firmly staring them down. The pilots of the Blackhawks were indecisive as to what their next move may be.

Another bullhorn from an agent’s car blared across the field.

This is FBI Agent Williams; you are surrounded Enoch. You and your friends are to submit to my agents at once. No one will be harmed.

Enoch fixed on the bright lights from the Blackhawks’ searchlights, illuminating him. The agent repeated the threat several times, and Enoch ignored the instructions. He was stalling. The children peeked around the corner of the shed, wide eyed, watching the scene as they kept quiet.

After ten minutes, Enoch saw the transports returning. The Blackhawks' beams kept Enoch lit as he approached the shed. Enoch motioned for Richard to come into the open.

The transports will land exactly where I am standing. They will probably shoot at them. There is nothing to fear from their shots. Their bullets cannot penetrate the transports. Keep everyone below the height of the transports doors while I deal with these intruders. Load everyone, two on each side. They will rotate automatically, shielding everyone from the onslaught of gunfire.

I got it, Richard confirmed as Enoch returned to the open field.

Enoch stopped about a hundred paces away from Richard. Looking up at the Blackhawk, he bellowed out another threat.

Are you ready to meet your maker now? Or will you let us finish our business here?

Both transports landed in front of the shed, blocking the view of Enoch and the farmhouse. The doors both opened. Richard instructed everyone to keep low below the doors.

Bursts of AK fire coupled with single shots from the Blackhawks and farmhouse flew around them, bouncing harmlessly off the transport as others dug into the ground around their feet. The transports did not budge from their loading positions. Richard loaded the terrified people on one side and the doors closed. Both transports rotated as the doors opened. He loaded the last two into the first transport. The first loaded transport took off, disappearing into the night sky as shells bounced off it. The other waited in place for the last two passengers: Enoch and Richard.

Richard was partially hidden as he noticed a light blue haze surrounding Enoch. It was the same blue light he saw during the Kansas City event. The shooting directed toward Enoch had no effect as the bullets ricocheted off the blue force field.

Seeing the one transport leave, Enoch pointed his staff toward the Blackhawk, as a bright bolt of lightning struck the rotors. The explosion detached the rotors as the blades flew straight up, then fell to the ground chewing up dirt and grass, spinning itself at an angle. The Blackhawk helicopter slammed into the ground. The shooters flew out of the open doors, dying instantly once they hit the ground. He peered inside the Blackhawk window, seeing the two pilots were unconscious, slumped over the control console.

As Enoch pointed his staff toward the other helicopter, the pilot retreated, turning the Blackhawk away from Enoch, fleeing the area. Enoch let them go, instead directed his staff in the direction of the agent’s cars, as repeated streams of lightning, or balls of fire, emitted from his staff. As the bursts of energy struck the cars, they exploded, then evaporated.

Enoch pointed his staff at the farmhouse. One burst from the staff was all it took. The farmhouse exploded into one gigantic fireball. Agents using it as cover were thrown into the air. Screaming in pain as their clothing caught fire.
