About this ebook

This rugged fisherman has me hooked, but can he reel me in?

All I wanted was to escape the city and return to my quaint coastal hometown to run my seafood restaurant in peace. But then I run into Miles. He's a fisherman, hotter than a summer's day, and with eyes as blue as the sea he sails on. Now all I want is to give in to his irresistible charm…

But just as I'm settling into my new life, my manipulative ex-boyfriend storms in. He thinks he's got a chance to win me back, but after the hell he put me through... he hasn't got a shot. Still, given Miles' troubled past that this small town won't let him forget, my matchmaking mother is convinced my ex is the better choice for me.

With my heart and my future on the line, can Miles and I put our pasts behind us to embrace the love we've found together?
Or will I have to cut my line, letting the best catch I've ever had slip away?

The salty breeze tousles my hair as I drive through the winding roads of Sugarville, my hometown. The quaint and colorful—though faded since I saw them last—houses stand like old friends, welcoming me back after all these years. As I approach the edge of town, I take a quick detour toward the boardwalk to have a look at what brought me back home—a small seafood restaurant. My seafood restaurant. It's a bit rundown, with chipped paint and a worn sign, but to me, it's a much-needed fresh start. This rickety little place is mine, and I can't wait to breathe new life into it. With a smile, I drive past it, heading in the direction of my parents' house.

I park my car on the gravel driveway and take a deep breath. It's strange how coming home can feel so thrilling and terrifying at the same time. After all, I left town as a starry-eyed teenager chasing dreams of being a chef, and now here I am, ten years later, with the humbling weight of a new business venture on my shoulders.

Before I can even knock, the door swings open to reveal my mother's radiant smile. Amy! She wraps her arms around me and gives me a tight squeeze. I squeeze her back just as tightly, comforted by the smell of her signature perfume, unchanged since my childhood.

It's so good to see you! I say.

Finally, our girl is back! my dad chimes in, joining the hug.

My parents sandwich me between them until I burst out laughing and wiggle out of their grasp.

Just so you know, I'm still a big fan of breathing, I say, grinning.

Come inside, honey, Mom says, ushering me into the living room. Your father and I are so excited for you, she gushes as we sit down. Owning your own restaurant—it's a dream come true! And you know, if you ever need any help at all, I'd be more than happy to lend a hand.

Really? I ask, touched by her offer. Ever since she retired, I've been hearing from Dad how restless she's been; it would be nice to have a familiar face around while I get the place up and running. Actually... maybe I could use some help at the front—you know, being the hostess, handling the register. You have a knack for making people feel welcome.

Consider it done, Mom says. I'll be there with bells on. Or rather, an apron.

Dad raises his coffee mug with a smile on his face. Cheers to new beginnings.

As I make my way to the local fish market in the morning, I take my time, enjoying the familiar scent of saltwater filling my lungs, and the sound of seagulls overhead. I've been back a few weeks now, and I still can't get over how I went without this for so many years.

Morning!, I greet the older man behind the counter. "I'm here to pick up an order for The
