Reader Advisory
This is a work of erotic science fiction, and a very rude one at that. Intended exclusively for an adult audience, it graphically depicts scenes of a highly sexual nature and situations of peril/horror.

Elsewhere
Beneath her feet, the grassy bank sloped away gently to the round-pebbled shore of a lake.
She had the strangest feeling, as she turned her head, that the vista was filling in with colour the merest sliver of a breath before her glance reached it. That before she gazed upon it the world was formless and void, and then in the next moment it had existed forever.
The trees, tall and proud, with broad leaves offering dappled shade from the butter-yellow sun. The horizon of gently rolling hills, their flanks blued by distance yet still perfectly discernible through air as clear and pure as a mountain stream. The neat little timber cottage, back up the slope a short way, the woodsmoke curling from its crooked iron stovepipe. As soon as she noticed something missing, it was there, had always been there.
Birds sang in the trees, now, while bees thrummed lazily from flower to flower.
It couldn’t be a dream, because dreams came from your memories, and this wasn’t a place she’d ever been. She had seen a shore, knew it well, a cold rocky shore butted up against a slate-grey southern ocean, but it was nothing like this one. This one she could paddle in, if she had a mind.
Having seen all she could see, she sat down cross-legged on new-old grass that shimmered in a gentle breeze that had never before blown, except for always, and waited for the one thing she couldn’t.
Station INF3, Lagrange Point 5, Venus orbital shell
It was on one of her wanders that Ornella Mito discovered The Room.
Of course, it wasn’t the Room when she first found it, merely a room, one of many she’d discovered over the months she’d been on the station. She’d taken to exploring the corridors and machinery spaces, working out where they all went, what they were all for. She got numbingly bored with just sitting around doing nothing, restless when she wasn’t actively participating in a fuck session, especially on the come-down from a particularly intense stint in one of the implantation chambers.
So she had taken to roaming.
It had needed a little cunning on her part, because participants in the Xenoplantation programme were usually restricted to specific living and sleeping areas, when they weren’t actively being implanted. There were coded locks and security controls on every door.
Ornella imagined it was supposed to be for her own good. But she’d never been much good at being good, nor much good at repentance if she was caught being bad, since she didn’t subscribe to other people’s ideas of what was good or bad in the first place. And anyway, boredom and curiosity had been triggers for shenanigans since time immemorial. So why not explore, she thought? Why not see just how far she could get before they stopped her? Why not see what trouble she could get herself into? As long as you didn’t hurt anybody else, it was entirely your own choice how far you pushed yourself, how many risks you were prepared to take. And right from the start hadn’t this whole Xenoplantation thing been an exercise in seeing how far she could push herself?
So, as far as Ornella Mito was concerned, locked doors were a serving suggestion rather than a hard-and-fast rule. An invitation for the intrepid explorer, a challenge to be overcome. Locks, in short, were things that happened to other people.
In practical terms, getting access to the rest of the station required two things. First, an access token – a little metal and plastic key matched to her bioprint. And then, second, that same bioprint entered in the right database, giving her permission to use the key on any particular door.
Getting her hands on a token was straightforward enough, because the security guards all had them, and her friend Oscar, he of the big swinging dick, was quite happy to give her one. And a token as well. Oscar had thought it would be a perfectly safe thing to let her have, since without her bioprint in the database the token was a useless ornament.
And that was where Charlie came in.
So to speak.
Charlie worked in station logistics and had access to the database. And, by happy coincidence, he was a devoted fan of Ornella’s adult videos.
Once Ornella had re-enacted some of his favourite scenes from some of his most beloved of her virtcasts, she’d been entered into the database under the name of Princess Aura Frigia, with access-all-areas permission. Access-all-areas was a phrase Ornella felt ought to be applicable to pretty much any circumstance, as far as she was concerned.
And so it came to pass, with a little help from her newly-minted token.
One of the things that surprised Ornella, as she began to map out the extended limits of her universe, was just how much stuff there was in the station. It took a while to unpick why.
Part of the reason was that the business of alien-fucking simply needed a lot of equipment. Or, more specifically, creating and maintaining the environments for them to fuck in did. Ornella found herself exploring great vaulted spaces where complex grids of pipework traced spaghetti-like into the shadowy gloom, and she wandered round the outside of huge tanks containing nitrogen, or argon, or silica beads, or even just millions of litres of plain old water. She stood in the gloom and listened to the thrum of heavy machinery, pumps and fans and macerators working constantly to cycle and recycle the hundred specific life-bloods of all the species aboard, humans among them.
It gave Ornella a thrill of excitement to think of all the resources, all the expense, the people and equipment, all beavering away behind the scenes, all of them bent towards just one purpose, to place her at the top of the pyramid, the point of the spear, the tip of the ovipositor. Her, Ornella,
