    Embers’ Sonnet - Naila Hina

    Awful voice!

    His horrible, hoarse, male voice

    In which he expressed love

    Inside it was a talisman

    A hangover from many glasses

To win the trust of the beloved

Then upon it, was the glory of this drinker

Who called himself an earthly god

    I understood

    His pride was immense

    Finding me, he felt like

The emperor of the five kingdoms

    I understood

    The woman inside me

    He used to wake up

    My hidden seasons

He did it just by the

    Magic of his voice

    Because that horrible sound too

    When in love, spread

    melodies around

    In the sound of his

    soft and stormy kisses

    There was a reflection of

    the poetry of the waterfalls

    And his accent

    Like the mottled softness

    of a warm blanket

    Cold fears inside me

    Got vanished

And it provoked me to become

the queen of the seven heavens

It was my innocence, my stupidity

But that voice, which was terrible

It was a fuel for my fire.

    The Last Sidewalk

In the heart of an ancient oriental land, between the contours of majestic mountains and sinuous rivers, an unsettling silence stood in the city of Jiyū. An implacable virus had struck, leaving behind deserted streets and silent buildings, like ghosts
