برف پگھل رہی ہو۔

اپنے آپ کو دھونے

-  رومی

یہ

کسی بھی سرچشمہ سے

آواز

جو منتر گنگناتی ہے۔

یا کوئی اور زبور

ہونٹوں کے درمیان

دریا کے کنارے کے؟

خاموشی سے باہر

بہار ابھرتی ہے

اور ایک ندی بن جاتی ہے۔

شفاف پانی

جو سست سائے سے بھری ہوئی ہے

رات کی طرف بہتا رہتا ہے

یا روشنی کے راستے پر۔

-  کسے پتا؟

نگلاتھ: ہمالیہ، بھارت کا ایک چھوٹا سا گاؤں، جہاں جرمین ڈروگن بروڈٹ نے وقت کی دھار میں کے چکر سے زیادہ تر نظمیں لکھیں۔

Be melting snow

wash you off yourself

-Rumi

Is this

from whatever source

the voice

that murmurs a mantra

or some other psalm

between the lips

of the riverbanks?

Out of silence

emerges the spring

and becomes a stream

pure water

that laden with slow shadows

keeps flowing nightward

or to a track of light.
