    INTRODUCTION

I decided to write a screenplay or book as a way of fulfilling a daydream of being a writer. It was undertaken with no great expectation of the end result. It proved to be harder than I anticipated and took longer than I originally planned. As I mentioned in my book what drove me on to complete my book was the story by the nurse who wrote about people’s regrets when they were dying. The regrets were not for what they had done, but the regrets were for things they meant to do in their lives that they did not do. That story drove me to complete this book. If no one ever reads what I have written, it will not matter. What matters is that I will have no regret over not writing my book.

    CHAPTER 1

    WHOSE LIFE ARE YOU LIVING?

When you are dying what will you regret? Studies have shown we regret not what we have done, but we regret things we wanted to do, but never did. If you think at the end of your life you will have regret for not living the life you really wanted to live, begin now and start to act on doing things you truly want to do. You can begin slowly with small steps. You don’t have to automatically radically change your life. Begin slowly, do some of the things you always wanted to try. If it’s writing a book, do it after work or get up early and do it before work. If it’s painting or learning to play an instrument or whatever you dreamed of doing. Do it before or after work, but begin now before it’s too late.

Shakespeare said All the world is a stage and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts Has your part in life been relegated to you by outside influences and as a result the part you play in life is not what you would choose to live.

It’s time to live the life you choose by creating the new persona you have dreamed of being. We are designed to remain comfortable and we are never ready for change. We are embarking on a journey of redesigning our personality by performing a selfscape. By that I mean just like you would redesign your lawns flowers and bushes by changing the landscape, you will redesign your life through conscious and subconscious affirmations and instructions. The new selfscape will be created through new pathways of thinking and acting

Imagine who the new you is and how you would act in your daily life and how you would behave in your new persona in relationships. Picture the new you, who behaves in a way you want to behave if anything were possible. Imagine what the new you is doing in their new life. Albert Einstein said Imagination is everything, it is a preview of life’s coming attractions. Allow your imagination to create your new selfscape, your new you. Once you imagine the new you, begin to act as if you already are the new person. Even if you don’t believe you are the new person your subconscious will begin to provide the ways and actions and ideas that will allow you to become your imagined person. Believe and imagine you are becoming your new person. You are designing by self-scaping your new persona. The person you have always wanted to be, but never seemed able to get there. Now believe it is possible to change your mind and by doing so, change your l

Living in Sarasota, Florida you are a part of The Greatest Show on Earth. Sarasota was the winter home of Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus. The circus contained some of the greatest entertainers in the world. The circus provided a stage for performing their many talents. Now you have the opportunity to dare to dream and live your dreams. Now is the beginning of your Rainbow Connection the beginning of your new life. The life you’ve been dreaming about. This will not be my show, it will be your show. The greatest show on earth. You are now on center stage. The number one on earth. The place you have always been destined to be. Relax and enjoy the ride. The show is about to begin. You have only 1 act to perform and that is to be the person you want to be. Dressed in your finest clothes and ready to entertain the world with your remarkable talents.

Your new center stage persona has existed in your imagination for years. Feel the newness of your thoughts and begin living the new you. Show the world the new you, for you truly are the greatest show on earth. Let your show begin now for each of you.

    OUR JOURNEY

It’s a little hard to remember how it all began, but it seems to have started after meeting a friend of Helen. When we met it seemed as if the conversation flowed like a river. Effortless and easy, swimming from one topic to another and not knowing where the conversation would end. Her name is Nicolle who possesses many talents in art, photography, comedy, food and wine, travel and is a professional card dealer as well as an interior designer.

We would discuss going to the Sarasota Art Museum and we eventually got there and joined. We attended the art displays and listened to jazz shows at the museum in the evening. The museum offered some interesting courses by OLLI Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Ringling College on writing and comedy.

Somehow, someway we wound up signing up for Open mic at McCordy’s Comedy Club. We were both scared to death of performing comedy for a 5-minute routine before a live audience. Neither of us had ever done anything like this before, and it was way outside our comfort zones.

We each practiced and worked up enough material for our 5 minutes. We both performed in June 2023 and the audience seemed to enjoy both of our performances. Trying to overcome our fear of performing was a major challenge, but once we had done it both of us felt a sense of exhilaration, a greater sense of being truly alive.

When I first met Nicolle, she encouraged me to try some of the things we had talked about doing like comedy. I know without Nicolle’s encouragement and support I never would have been able to get up and perform comedy. I believe my encouragement helped Nicolle to have the courage to do her comedy routine.

Sometimes in life we are very lucky to find the right person who is able to encourage us to fulfill our dreams. We still meet Nicolle and I to discuss our dreams and projects. Encouraging each other to live outside our comfort zones and take on the challenge of pursuing our dreams.

As we live our lives, we fall into our comfort zone of doing things, mainly things we have become accustomed to. Certain things we were taught at home, some things we were taught in school or by our friends or in church. We follow a certain path and become used to doing things we are familiar with and eventually they form into a habit when we no longer have to think about it, we can perform it without even thinking. It becomes our comfort zone and it is very hard to change and move outside of it to try things we are interested in, because to do so we would have to change.

Nicolle has so many talents and we are trying to monetize some of her art work and photography by selecting some and offering them on eBay and other platforms for sale. It’s not easy because selling art and photos is also outside our comfort zone. It’s hard to know how one goes about selling on eBay and other platforms, when you’ve never done it before. It’s all new to us. I’m sure people who are already doing this kind of thing would say it’s so easy, but when you’ve never done it before, it’s a challenge to even try, we struggle just to select what we would offer to sell before even going on eBay. I’m sure once we have sold the art and photographs on eBay it will seem easy in hindsight, but when you’re trying to do something for the first time, it is far from easy. Everything is new because we have never done it before. Right now, it’s just an idea that needs to be started. Again, to start we have to move outside our comfort zone and human nature keeps saying, don’t do it, stay with what you know.

Our challenges are to continue working on our comedy through writing and performing. We will work on our Podcast – Food, Wine and
