About the Book
During the height of Black Lives Matter, a secret society of women take over the government and transform the country. The Rise of a Country follows these women in an alternate and dystopian universe where their extreme actions raise philosophical questions about right and wrong and if the ends justify the means.
About the Author
Destene Savariau is involved in their college’s Black Student Union, the student newspaper Southern News, and the Caribbean Student Association. She enjoys dancing, cooking, and writing. She started writing at a young age, around ten. Starting with fanfiction, she then discovered Wattpad and started posting stories there. After a while, she outgrew it and took a break from writing until COVID hit and the murder of George Floyd right after. These events lit a fire in her, and The Rise of a Country was born of that fire. All of her planned prequels, sequels, and spin-offs will turn that fire into a star that will illuminate the world.

Prologue
Are you sure you’re ready for this? Remember, you will receive a lot of hate for this, but it’’ all for the greater good. Remember, think big picture.
Yeah, I’ve got this. I won’’ let you down Milady.
She gently caressed my shoulder. I know you won’t. Now get out there.
I stepped out into the press conference and blinding flashes. Yet it was practically silent beside the constant clicks of cameras. All of the reporters eagerly waited to hear who I was and what I had to say.
My fellow Americans, in these times of constant chaos, I believe it is time for me and my group to come into the light and try to bring some order. But that cannot happen with all these lowlife degenerates screeching about how ’Black Lives Matter’’’ ’ecause All Lives Matter. Rioting and looting and antagonizing our brave police force are unacceptable. Not only that, but they also take advantage of our government then get surprised when they get killed like the animals they are. They sling drugs, buy frivolous things, and overall have no future as they are born failures. No longer will we allow these people whose existence stain the great country that is America. We are The Sisters of Supremacy. And we will be helping your government get this country back on track. Starting with a mandatory meeting of great minds at the United States Diplomacy Center this Saturday. If you received an invitation, it means you are required to be in attendance as you are a key part of the reformation of our once great country. May God bless you and may He bless the United States of America.
This was it, the first step towards true change. I stood there side by side with President Bump, holding his hand in a diplomatic pose for the reporters. Many of whom were still screaming questions. My fellow sisters in the background, masked to hide their identities, watched silently. After all, The Sisters of Supremacy and I popped up out of nowhere, who were we to exact change? Who were we to exact anything at all? Nobody knew who we were or where we came from. And that’s a good thing. We were ghosts, ghosts that knew this was only the beginning and things were going to get crazy really, really FAST……
PHASE 1: Ruse of Power
Mr. President, are you sure you want these women’s help? It makes it look as if you can’’ run your country without help.
I agree Mr. President, these women, we know nothing about them. This woman came out of nowhere claiming to have a plan of action but all she’s doing is adding more fuel to the fire. African Americans are rioting even more now. They’’e truly banded together, it’s’astonishing.
I disagree. Not only has his approval ratings gone through the roof, but it’s also about time that we instill the principles that my grandfather once instilled in me,
Fence said pointedly.
Donald, if you want change, back these women. You are bound by those idiots at Congress and the House of Reps. They aren’t, they don’’ have to wait through the paperwork and normal bureaucratic crap. They can skip straight to taking action. Whether you give your approval or not. I’v’ already publicly voiced my support and look.
Fence pulled out his phone to show Bump his twitter feed which was blowing up with constant support.
Of course, there’s the occasional hate comment, or death threat. But a war is coming, and as your VP and your friend, I want you to be on the right side of it.
Mr. President, if I may interject.
All eyes were on me now. I was quiet the whole time; watching, observing, taking down mental notes, but I figured it was time to break that silence.
Like Vice President Fence said, we don’t exactly need your approval to take charge, but we want it. We want to show you and your government that we are here to serve you. As women, that is our purpose.
I mentally cringed at the comment I made, but President Bump smiled. That last line clearly sold it for him.
Alright, I’m behind you 100 percent,
he said cooly.
But sir, you-
He held up his hand, silencing his advisor. Tell me, what do you need me to do?
I smiled. All you have to do is make a public statement saying you support our cause. We will handle the rest. Then, you can just sit back and take the credit.
Of course. And this convention you’re holding is part of that cause?
Bump interrogated.
Absolutely. Vice President Fence helped us gather all the Klu Klux Klan and Neo-Nazi members at the Diplomatic Center. These great minds will be a key part in making America great again.
Bump and Fence exchanged looks and smiled at me. We like the sound of that.
Good. Then I’ll get to work.
I walked out of the Oval Office and out of the White House, where a black SUV was waiting for me. The door opened to reveal a masked woman waiting for me. It was black with the face of a woman who held a look of content and enlightenment.
So, how did it go?
Good, everything is going according to plan. The president and VP are on board and have publicly voiced their support.
Good, Phase 1 is off to a good start. How are preparations for the banquet going?
It’s coming together quite nicely. The invitations have been sent out and the public is already aware that it’’ mandatory and imperative that they are in attendance.
Excellent.
How are things on your end?
The Black community is in an uproar. Between what’s going on with this George Floyd incident and now this, we’’e on the brink of a race war.
At least they as a community are united.
Of course they are, they all now have a common enemy. Who, of course, have been taking it upon themselves to exact white justice.
What do you mean?
She pulled up a holographic report of the many lives taken by these white supremacists.
Well, we kind of expected this, though it is quite sad.
With these people feeling like they have the government’s support, they feel like they can do whatever they want. Even though we did assume this would happen, we need to complete Phase 1 as quickly as possible.
Understood.
The car stopped just as our conversation came to a close. We were at the United States Diplomatic Center.
The banquet is this Saturday, so you have only two days to get this place in order. The sooner we get this done, the better.
Yes, Milady.
Tables and chairs are set. Caterers have been booked. The play area for children has been set up. What are we missing?
Ms. Smith!
I turned to see one of my fellow sisters running towards me, Molly. She was one of the newest recruits to
