    Preface

This book chronicles the difficulties Nigerians in the diaspora pass through in their receiving countries and when re-entering or visiting Nigeria. It also looks at the contributions the diaspora Nigerians make toward the national development. Before Buhari’s administration, which brought with it the current unrest and insecurity within the country, the previous administrations of Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru YarAdua, and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, recognized the importance of Nigerians in the diaspora and their contributions to the national development and did such an exceptional job to draw in and maintain a cordial relationship with the diasporas as well as foreign investors. These were substantiated by the increased influx of foreign investments and the Diasporas’ remittance during the administrations of Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru YarAdua, and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
