The Adventures of Titmouse - Martina H Lindsay

    1 Someone’s Here

The first thing the tiny mouse ever knew was the breath of her mother and her mother’s warmth. Her Mum loved her, this she knew because her Mum had nudged her close and because she was so small, so much smaller than her three, six, no, maybe eight siblings. Titmouse couldn’t count yet but there were lots of tickles from an awful lot of paws, all trying to get a feed from Mum. Titmouse waited till Mum nudged her closer, she loved that extra care it made her feel special.

For weeks, all Titmouse did was eat, sleep, and wake to being tickled by her sisters and brothers as they started searching for a feed from their Mum. Yes, Titmouse was loved, Mum always welcomed her at feed time. Titmouse she would say, you need to grow, or you won’t ever manage on your own. Titmouse didn’t want to be on her own. What did that mean anyway?

As her family grew, she stayed small, she was no longer a tiny mouse, but her family were strong and bigger
