However, if the heart is heavier, then the soul is doomed for hell or eternal punishment -- into a place of suffering and torment.

In fact, it applies even to people who are purely materialists because it shares lessons and insights that may apply to all walks of life. After all, he who meditates on death meditates on life. By learning about this soul (that you are) and its passage into the Afterlife, you can unlock the meaning of life and overcome the fear of death.
