NADIA HAD TO GET OUT of the house. Her apartment was being painted and the odor was giving her headaches. She called her best friend, Vicki, and asked her if she could spend the week at her house until the smell was gone.

You're welcome here, anytime, Nadia, Vicki said. My dad and I would love to have you stay over.

Nadia was thrilled. She had a crush on Vicki's father and wondered what it was going to be like living with them for a week. She made sure she packed her shortest skirt and her tightest shorts for her visit.
