Christmas Joy?
Christmas.
When many people hear that word, they immediately feel happy, for Christmas is a time of joy, giving, and colorful decorations.
Sounds delightful, doesn’t it? However, there have been times throughout the centuries that sadness has enveloped the land, sucking all the enjoyment from this festive time of year. Much as a blood-sucking vampire.
Many reading this tale are too young to recall those super sad times, but someone in your family might know. Ask one of them about the great sorrow of the late 1920s. A time referred to as the Great Depression.

It took a bit longer to realize this joyous event only took place once a year, but it became something trees looked forward to with great delight. This delight did not come to the United States though until 1870, when the government decided to make Christmas an official celebration. Over two hundred years later! That’s a long time for trees there to wait. Can you imagine waiting two hundred years...oh, never mind...humans don’t live that long.
Anyway, gradually, as people
