About this ebook

Christian Second Chance for Lasting Love in idyllic Welcombe Bay.
A Recovery and Redemption novel from Kate Darroch, 2022 Incipere award holder, Best Christian Fiction.
The riveting sobriety journey of Eric, an alcoholic newly recovering in AA, who falls in love with Lily, a woman haunted by memories of domestic abuse. Their moving story unfolds by the sea on the gorgeous Devon coastline in England.
A "slice of life" in a caring small Christian community.
A sweet story of warm friendship and complex but warm-hearted people who've made mistakes in the past moving towards committed love. An old fashioned love story.
Old fashioned love stories don't always have happy endings, but take heart! this story takes place over a holiday -- and who ever heard of a holiday story with an unhappy ending?
Thanksgiving in Welcombe Bay reminds us that God Is Love, and with Love, all things are possible.
Glowing early reader accolades:

A perfect feel good story
The story is wonderful.
Super sweet. This is how life should be.
I'm totally taken by this story and its tone and atmosphere of kindness and openness.
Really stirs the heart.
It felt like I could step into the pages and just be there.

I wanted to climb in and give the characters comforting hugs.

Kate Darroch is my favorite Cozy Mystery wordsmith, yet she has far exceeded my expectations with this Christian Romance.

Kate Darroch

Enjoying a placid life in coastal Devon, Kate brings her love of reading Cozy Sleuths, her 30 years writing experience, and her knowledge of foreign climes, to writing her quirky Travel Cozies. Kate hopes her readers will find as much joy in Màiri Maguire Cozies as she finds in reading Sherlock Holmes, Father Brown, Ellery Queen Magazine, and Steve Higgs’ Patricia Fisher. The colossal sense of community in the hamlets of Devon took Kate back in spirit to the Glasgow of her childhood, and that's how Màiri was born. Màiri is a Scots Irish teacher whose hometown is Glasgow as it was in the 1970s, an era Kate fondly remembers. In Britain, the Seventies ushered in a time of huge ideological change. The world opened up and class barriers were vanishing. It was an exciting time to be a woman. Kate hopes to bring a sense of that excitement to you now, with a soupcon of women's lives during that epoch of upheaval, together with a little of the culture of Europe; all wrapped up in fun, frothy, fast paced Cozy Mysteries, with just enough clues and twists to keep you guessing until the end.  Kate believes that Reading should be a pleasure available to all, and so she is passionate about Accessibility. All her fiction is published in Large Print and Dyslexia Friendly editions, standard print, eBooks and audiobooks.

Wonderful ! Endearing story full of love redemption and friendships. My heart was loop the looping throughout this magnificently crafted romance story. Set in the beautiful Devon coastal town of Welcombe Bay , where a warm welcome invites you into the loving embrace of newfound friends , it’s that immersive. The story set in Lily’s coffee shop Sweets By The Sea , where she first encounters, handsome Eric. She has been hurt and is still scarred by her abusive soon to be ex husband after four years. She hides in her pain behind a bright smile , Father Tom and his wife have been true godsends to her , giving endless support. Her friends don’t know the half of what she’s hiding. Eric has his troubles too , as a newly sober alcoholic , seeking atonement and purpose. He finds this woman fascinating and is eager to see her again. His alcoholism caused drunk driving that led indirectly to a child being injured. has a sponsor who supports his journey beyond the bottle and with his inner battles outside the AA meetings themselves. There’s lots of situations both these lost souls face but can they find their way through Love and God’s light. Bravo! Brilliant prose, the descriptions are fluent and interesting, and uber emotive.
