About this ebook

There are no chains strong enough to keep those bound who He has called to be set free!

Everyone has a testimony and testimonies never lose their power. This is our testimony of how God continued to pour out miraculous interventions in His predestined plan for our lives. This true account of one man's journey will merge with the next volume of one woman's journey. Together, they point us to the narrow road of oneness we all must choose, if we desire to see God's perfect will in our lives and discover how two become one.

Our combined journey portrays an impossible, emotional roller coaster ride, yet all things are possible with God. From death contracts on our lives, to being abducted, the road of miraculous transformations from our will to God's is quite staggering. This resulted in visitations from heaven, angelic interventions, and opened doors to freedom that only God could provide through His mercy, grace and great love.

This is a story of two individual storms turning into a hurricane for heaven.

    Dedication

My wife Patricia is my hero, when I hear the word overcome, I can see Patricia’s tenacity. When I hear the word relentless, I think of Patricia’s commitment to break free. Jesus speaks about having the heart of a child and of great love; this brings a picture of Patricia to my mind. Patricia is not just an amazing survivor; she is my anointed partner. I know we had to take this journey to become the power of one, so, I dedicate my half of my testimony to my wife Patricia. Thank you for never giving up and always believing in me and wanting to see God’s best in and through our lives and ministry and for refusing to compromise for anything less.

Now is the time for our testimonies to overcome the world. We need to take our part in ushering in the kingdom of God, embrace the new tomorrow we are now living in. Be prepared for words of revelation, dreams, visions, and visitations at biblical proportion that will launch us into an All in Commitment, to the last days ministry."

    Foreword

From Prodigal to Prisoner to Pastor and now Partner of a loving wife! Robbie Pascoe’s story is everything you’d expect a Godordained journey to be. In the years forming the context of this testimony, many of us were swept up in what’s now called The Jesus Movement. Those days were chock full of vibrancy and expectancy, as so many of us had recently come to Christ and were now fully expecting Him to come for us, and soon. It was in the midst of that electric time that I met Robbie.

While serving on staff at one of the churches he describes in the book, I developed a friendship with this young man who, I knew, had recently done some time and had an incredible story – stories, really, to tell. I am so happy to see that nearly a half century later, he’s still telling them!

In these pages you’ll learn about God’s faithful hand on lives that He first chooses, then pursues, then calls, then refines. And wow, what levels of refinement and calling you’ll see in When Two Become One.

Robbie pulls no punches in his descriptions of church life and ministry struggles, so if you’re looking for a sanitized narrative this is not the book for you. But if you’re in need of an encouraging, honest, and Christ-centered account of God’s mercy and power in equal measure, you’ll enjoy this read as much as I did.

After my own severe ups and downs following my early ministry years, I am especially blessed to be able to add my voice to so many other old friends who I join in saying, Well done, Robbie! You always were a talker, and we still are very willing listeners.

May this book find its way into the hands of people who will be strengthened and transformed by its content.

    Reverend Joe Dallas

Founder of CloudFire Ministries and author of Desires in Conflict

Barely a month after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, I was born, the year was 1942. The United States of America was catapulted in to World War II and I was birthed into a world of conflict and war. We lived on a small farm in the Philippines far from the city and were sheltered by jungle during the Japanese occupation. The Lord was merciful and gracious during the years between 1942 and 1946 before Japan’s surrender, ending World War II. My father, a rice farmer, loved God and was drawn to Christ. He pursued a part time ministry as an Evangelist which resulted in a fulltime ministry as a Pastor. Later, he was invited to a miracle service where a missionary was praying for the sick. My father asked for prayer for his eyes, and the Lord healed him. Through this encounter, the Pascua family with their three boys and two girls joined the Davao City Foursquare Gospel Church.

Rev. Arthur and Evelyn Thompson were the Foursquare missionaries who came to pioneer the church in 1956. On my 17th birthday January 1959, I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior; then I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit during an outpouring and visitation from the Lord in Davao City. After ten years serving the Lord in Davao, in 1970 the Lord opened a door to pioneer a Foursquare Church in Hawaii. Shortly after launching the work, I became ill and could not pursue the work of the ministry.

In March 1974, we moved to Los Angeles, CA where Dr. Evelyn Thompson had accepted a position as Associate Minister at Angelus Temple. They previously served in the Philippines for 18 years, and South Korea for 3 years. I write these series of events to show how we met Pastor Bob and his beloved wife, sister Patricia.

Dr. Evelyn Thompson and Pastor Bob’s mom were very good friends and through their long friendship, we were introduced to Pastor Bob Pascoe. Through our long-time relationship with Dr. Thompson and Lorraine, we have grown to know Pastor Bob and Sister Patricia with great appreciation for their love for the Lord and serving in ministry. Through the years, we would occasionally have times of fellowship and prayer.

The Lord had prepared our steps to meet people like Demos and Rose Shakarian at a restaurant in Glendale, California.

Later on, we met Pastor Jack Hayford and his wife Anna, who were friends of the Thompson’s and their adopted daughter Joyce. Joyce and I worked with Demos Shakarian at the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International Headquarters for 14 years, (1974 – 1988.) My function and assignment was Global Outreach Manager and International Coordinator of FGBMFI. In 1988 we launched The Joshua Generation International Network.

It has grown to be a Great Commission Network in the kingdom of God with the use of technology platforms available on the Internet. This Prayer/Intercessory Network is worldwide, with representatives and partners in every nation. In addition, as ordained Foursquare ministers, this has opened up 85 countries to spread the gospel by way of partnering with through Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship.

The Lord has blessed us with favor to reach over national, denominational and organizational lines. Pastor Bob’s testimony is a powerful witness of God’s mercy and love, and the work of the Holy Spirit in a person who was obedient to the call of God. He has gone through trials and tests like those men of God we read about in scripture.

The story of Joseph is a reminder of what Pastor Bob has gone through. Years and multiple challenges were required to prepare him for the future work and ministry the Lord had called him too. Remaining faith driven in his journey produced unique testimonies of God’s miracles, mercy, grace and great love.

Joyce (my wife of 53 years) and I are honored to call Pastor Bob Pascoe and Sister Patricia our dear friends, co-laborers in the Gospel, and fellow soldiers in God’s kingdom. All these years we have been partners, fellow heirs, and laborers in the Lord’s harvest.

Praying that as you read Pastor Bob’s and Sister Patricia’s testimonies, you will appreciate their dedication and love for the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lover of our soul, our Savior and King!

    Sincerely,

Dr. Jose V. Pascua and Rev. Joyce Thompson Pascua

    The Joshua Generation

Bob’s mother, Lorraine Pascoe, and I were friends for several years before I ever met Bob in anyway except through a mother’s eyes. I first met Bob in person when he was ministering in the Long Beach Foursquare church. We have been friends for a number of years now and have shared many fun times together as well as times of prayer and discussion of the word of God. I have found him to be deeply spiritually well rounded in the word and mightily used by the Holy Spirit in the gifts of the spirit. Words of knowledge and wisdom and also in dreams and visions in revelation. His boldness to speak for Christ is outstanding and he is always ready to be a witness for our Saviour Jesus Christ. The book is a testimony to the way God can use anyone in any circumstance to be a powerful tool in his hands. The miracles that happened through Bob’s time in prison have continued throughout his life and he is still being mightily used to touch lives today.

    Reverend Virgina Cravens

I first met Bob in the early 1970’s when the Lord connected us while speaking at the Full Gospel Business Men's meetings. We were both very busy for the Lord as this was in the middle of the outpouring during the Jesus revolution in America. Over the years our paths have crossed and in 2000 the Lord re-connected us again and we have stayed in touch, sharing the great works of the Lord. I travel quite often and I am blessed to speak in many nations and witness the miraculous works of the Lord. Bob and Patricia have always covered us in prayer for the missionary journeys and I have always reciprocated by updating them with the testimonies and miracles of each event.

This book on his testimony should have been released many years ago, but the Lord’s timing is always perfect. This will show any reader that our Lord can do miracles beyond human comprehension anyplace and with anyone. This epistle personifies the words of Jesus in Matthew 16:18 when He said that, even the gates of hell will not be able to prevail. That would describe the iron bars that confined Bob, but when Jesus sets you free, you are free to do what you have been assigned, no matter where you are. The stories of the healings, deliverances and salvation resonate with me as I see this expanding with every mile I travel for the Lord. This is a story of commitment and kingdom.

A record of faith in action and what the Lord is willing to do in and through anyone that will heed the call and say, Here I am Lord, use me. Bob’s experience shows that when we choose to embrace Jesus, obey God the Father, and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, that your tomorrow will be brighter. This is a testament that you too will fulfill the plan and purpose of God for your life, and gives a wonderful assurance to the readers that whatever happened with your life yesterday, God will take and mold into a wonderful tomorrow.

Evangelist Mel Tari, author of, Like a Mighty Wind

There are people who have made such a strong impact in your life that you know beyond a doubt that their testimony, friendship, counsel, encouragement, and prayers have influenced you and helped to shape and guide you in the Lord. In my life, there were three such people. My mother, Lorraine Pascoe, and Lorraine’s son Bob. My mother and Lorraine have since gone to be with Jesus, but Bob still continues to be a friend, encourager, and all of the above to me.

The word says many are called but few are chosen. I know Bob to be among the latter few. God has often asked the question, who will I send? Many won’t answer, some will only go so far, and others aren’t willing to pay the price. Bob was one who, in a time of desperation, answered, here am I…send me! and he has never walked away from that pledge. God will often use our lowest times when we are at the end of ourselves to get our attention and reveal Himself to us. This was the case for Bob who ended up surrendering his life to Jesus after being arrested and imprisoned. This would become Bob’s first mission field where he would lead many lost and hardened men to Christ.

The Lord will go to great lengths to reach the unreachable and teach the unteachable, and he often uses those who speak the language to do so. With a bible and the Holy Spirit as his teacher, Bob would reach and teach those who society had forgotten…but who Jesus loved and remembered. For over 45 years Bob has been a good friend and brother in Christ.

Since the time we were first acquainted years ago at Shekinah Fellowship until now, He’s been a prophetic counsellor, an anointed teacher, intercessor, and comic relief provider for me in both good times and dark times. Over the years, I’ve also come to know his anointed wife and partner Patricia who has also become my dear sister and friend.

While reading One Man’s Journey, I found it particularly interesting and fun to learn about Bob’s early street days and the time of his incarceration since I knew so little about that time of his life. As I read on, I was flooded with nostalgic memories about Bob’s unique testimony and the times we all spent together during the birth of the Jesus movement. I laughed and was brought to tears over the many funny, engaging, and supernatural stories in this book.

But if I were to sum up One Man’s Journey I would give credit where credit is due: to our Lord Jesus Christ who is both the Hero of this book and of the life of its author. Without Him, this autobiography wouldn’t exist. God loves to seek and save lost people and He will do whatever it takes to direct their lives in order that they may know Him, love Him, and be used by Him. He will work all things together for good for the one who loves Him and says yes to Him. There is nothing He won’t do in and through that person who is completely surrendered to His Holy Spirit. He will use that one to touch, heal, deliver, and transform countless broken lives who in need of a Savior. This is the story of one man who said yes.

    Lisa Hammond Dickson, Intercessor

Bob is my brother in more ways than being a brother in Christ. Bob’s mother was my spiritual mother. Lorraine didn’t just teach her son to pray and walk in the Spirit, she did that for me and many others. I know Bob to be laser focused on being an obedient and Spirit filled servant of the Lord… this apple hasn’t fallen too far from Lorraine’s tree. The world and heaven are both better places for the work the Lord’s done in and through Bob’s life. The story Bob tells here is honest and forthright, revealing, and funny. It is honest and forthright because he doesn’t sugar coat his past, his failures, or his many experiences while in the care of California’s justice system.

That makes his story eye opening, relatable, and instructive at so many levels. Bob’s story is revealing because it illustrates in no uncertain terms how dangerous life can be – both physically and spiritually. It is only with the power of our Savior that we can make it through the unthinkable. Bob’s story is funny because – well – Bob is funny! It never ceases to amaze me that his sense of humor cannot be contained, no matter his circumstances. This One Man’s Journey is like the old Disneyland E ticket. Hang on tight because there’s never a dull moment: sin, salvation, healing, miracles, and visitations from the God of the universe. I cannot wait to read the next instalment with Patricia’s own miraculous story and the unfolding of their ministry together. Be blessed in reading this – you will surely see the salvation of the Lord and the miracles He still works in and through His sons and daughters today.

    About the Author

    Introduction

Held at gunpoint, kidnapped, abused, contracts to kill from organized crime, notorious bikers, prison, front page news, drug arrests, miracles and visitations from heaven, survived to tell the world, survivors give glory to God for the power of one.

This sounds like something you would hear on TV or read in on the front cover of the daily news! But for us it’s much more, since this is a description of our combined marriage encounter. We picture this as part of the material that God the Father, the Potter, had to work with when He was making us into one vessel.

Jeremiah 18:4-6 KJV, And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel."

This personifies the words When two become one. When Jesus spoke in Mark 10:8-9, KJV, "And they twain shall be one flesh: so, then they are no more twain, but one flesh, what therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Jesus was expanding the quote given by His Father in Genesis 2:24.

Being crushed and reformed on the potter’s wheel is tough enough as an individual, but when you join with another you get smashed on the wheel together as the Lord starts forming two vessels into one for His glory. This is not an easy process by any means, the good news is that the only hands that are shaping us are the hands of the Creator of all things, Elohim.

This word of God about two becoming one cannot be avoided or sidestepped by any follower of Christ, nor by any Christian that desires to be joined in marriage. Jehovah our Father and Jesus made a point of speaking about marriage, and so did the Apostle Paul. This testimony is really to help give understanding of the power behind the written words in the bible about singular unity. This sounds like an oxymoron but it is really verbiage that defines unifying as one in the Lord.

Ephesians 5:32 KJV says, For we are members of His body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Paul describes in his teaching on marriage, that this union is actually tied into a great mystery. Everything to do with oneness is hidden or a great mystery until each of us decides to make ourselves one with the Trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. When we are brought together with someone else who has committed their all to the Lord and his direction, the Lord begins to unfold to us a mystery. In the natural marriage we also join to become one. Even if one of the espoused is one hundred percent committed to the Lord and the other spouse is not, they are still part of the journey together by their vows to God.

We tend to remember the favorable words of our vows before God. From this day forward in richness and health to have and hold. But that is the picture of the wedding cake, sweet, spice and everything nice. That’s the way it tastes when it’s the finished product, but blending everything takes time, practice and not giving up. Not many want to chew on just flour, or a block of butter, not even a mouthful of sugar, but when we allow time to let everything blend together and then go through the heat, the final result produces something desired and purposeful, because God does not know how to make anything bad.

Genesis 1:31 KJV says, And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Marriage is a blood covenant. Jesus sacrificed His blood that we could have a relationship of oneness with the Trinity. First with Him, then He points us to the Father, and then to an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. However, we need the Holy Spirit as our Helper to build intimacy in all levels of the Trinity.

Even the disciple’s prayer points to us as one. Verses 9 – 10 are directed to our Father, respecting Him and His will. Verses 11 – 12 are the requests for us and verse 13 is split between us and God our Father.

Matthew 6:9-13 KJV says, After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

I refer to this as the disciple’s prayer since we know Jesus directed this expansive prayer to all disciples and we know Christ does not need to ask forgiveness for sins. The word tells us in Hebrews 4:15 KJV, For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. The Lord’s prayer in my opinion is really found in John 17 where Jesus prays to the Father for us, and for oneness.

Now we know we have a blood relationship to Christ through the cross, but in the natural, when preparing to marry, they also require a blood test as an action step in connecting a couple to a blood relationship. Later, if there is offspring, this is validated in children that share the blood line of both the father and the mother. The miracle of oneness in the natural that we participate in assists us in understanding the mystery of oneness the Lord wants to reveal to us in the spirit. Not the visible things, but the hidden things yet to be revealed.

All of us on this planet have come under the testing and tempting hand of the enemy known as the devil, who Jesus said was the prince or ruler of this planet. We bear in our body the scars and marks as part of our process of becoming who God designed us to be and why God predestined us to Him. Unfortunately, many warriors of the Word are recognized by the wounds in their back rather than the fruits of their service as a servant to the King. These are not from a whip, but from verbal stabbings and ministry assaults, but that is where the real treasure is found.
