About this ebook

Poverty Tested, Prosperity Approved is a soul stirring book that reveals factual life struggles due to very limited education. The result of this misfortune is a life of poverty, alcoholism, domestic violence, low self-esteem, and other negative attachments. It expresses the difficulty of being least, while waiting to be recognized by those whom are fortunate in the social realm.

The author, Cynthia Haynes Asmond, once craved the homebody life because she despised the whispers, bullying, taunting, laughing, and finger pointing from others, including family members. Thank God she had a mother who taught her how to survive and keep it moving in spite of her struggles. More importantly, thank God she had a father who taught her how to strive.
Not everyone feels as though they have that person in their life who can encourage them. That is exactly why Cynthia penned this book. Now, through the sharing of some of the most traumatic and intimate experiences in her life, Cynthia is able to inspire others to perform with optimism and a smile, regardless of their situation and circumstance. Poverty Tested, Prosperity Approved is a designated compass for those who are living beneath their privilege, and for those who might be deemed more fortunate in certain areas, but need mental strength and holistic stability. Even if you find yourself in neither of these predicaments, allow this book to be used as a simple tool of inspiration to press forward with inner and outer happiness and peace.

    Dedication

To God whom inspired me to write this book. Without Him, there's no true existence. Amid all my needs and desires, He is the only one I am truly desperate for. God is first priority in my life. He has caused me to prosper and have good health, even as my soul is prospering.

To my husband, Otto Asmond Jr.: You are my venting receiver, my majority supporter, my natural life partner, and most importantly, my fellow laborer in the gospel.

To my three children, Christian, Shirvonna, and Xavier: Although the three of you are adults now, I often remember when you were infants, children, preteens, then young adults, and all the fun filled and serious times we shared. I am proud of who you guys have become successfully.

To my grandchildren, Destiny, Amarii, Adriel, and my grandchildren to come: You are a completion to our family. You are destined to be great!

To my parents, Hoover Haynes Sr. and Corine PalmerHaynes: You are the greatest parents who have done everything possible to keep your family fed, clothed, and educated even though you were robbed of your chances to receive your full education and graduate high school. You made sure six children and your oldest grandson stayed afloat and were given an opportunity to succeed. You are irreplaceable!

    Foreword

I met Cynthia for the first time during a church service that she was attending. A young Cynthia was just a child who was playing an electric lead guitar, and she was amazing. I could see then that the gifts and calling of God had been given to her at an early age. My entire church fell in love with Cynthia that night because of her anointed performance. She has had our full attention ever since. We continued fellowshipping and worshipping God together for many years after that night.

I witnessed God's anointing upon her as she exercised talents and gifts that God had entrusted her with to bless Him and His people who would cross her path. Among Cynthia's talents and gifts, God has inspired her this season to write her first book titled Poverty Tested, Prosperity Approved. This book is a mental prescription for those who are or who have been tested by poverty and so much more.

The intention of this inspirational author is to shatter the poverty walls in the lives of those who do not have the mental strength, ability, or courage to take a risk and receive the prosperous life that awaits them.

Knowing Cynthia reminds me of Moses. The both of them were born stutterers with assignments from God to reach people orally. Cynthia was healed of stuttering at the age of sixteen, but Moses used his brother Aaron to convey all his messages from God. Aaron announced on Moses’s behalf to the Jews as well as Pharaoh until Aaron expired from life.

Moses did the best that he could when he lost his mediator. His most powerful message was the one he delivered to three million Jews. He challenged them to take a risk and walk away from controlled bondage called slavery under the auspices of Pharaoh Rameses. He relayed God’s promise to free them and allow them to own and enjoy many prosperous places after having suffered for so long.

According to Deuteronomy 28:3-7 (NIV), Moses provoked their faith by telling them: We are blessed in the city, we are blessed in the fields (country), we are blessed when we come and go. We cast down every stronghold, sickness and poverty must cease, the devil is defeated.

Cynthia is a living testament and she enjoys sharing with those who are interested and would like to know about her deliverance out of poverty. When she was a member of my church, she was a pleasure to be around, especially when we played guitars together. She is friendly to all people.

Cynthia has been and is still faithful in everything that the Lord wants her to do, including accepting this assignment to become an author. She understands that God is using her life story to set others with devastating needs free. Her steps are ordered by the Lord, and I encourage you to walk it out with her through the pages of this book.

    Introduction

It is most appropriate to begin my writing journey with God's Holy Word.

In everything give thanks, for it is the will of God concerning you (I Thessalonians 5:18).

What makes this assignment unique and perfect is knowing and having a relationship with God, behaving as a genuine Christian, listening to God, and pursuing and exercising the instructions He has spoken to me. I am certain the right direction for me is intact, and this book is a healthy portion of my destiny.

I challenge every reader who reads this book, especially those who grew up in poverty like I did, to have a positive will and enthusiasm. I encourage you to change and make things better according to your faith, service, and ability issued to you from God according to His divine will.

I present two motivational scriptures to begin your spiritual adrenaline flow:

God has given everybody a measure of faith according to his/her service ability (Romans 12:3). Therefore, Faith without works is dead (James 2:26).

    Proclaim! Perform! Proceed! Prosper!

We as a people encounter negative things in our lives simply to be a positive light and encouragement for those that will cross our path and bear the same burdens. I am not the first, the last, nor the only child of God born into poverty and neither are you.

I have a knack for researching celebrities via the Bible, reading biographies, and watching Oprah Winfrey’s Own network’s, Where Are They Now? I even visit the movie theaters to watch biopics about people in America’s history who started out poor, but prospered, some even leaving behind generational wealth.

One of my favorite role models, who happens to be a character in the Bible, is Amos. He was born into poverty as an infant in the south (Southern Kingdom) from Tekoa of Judah. He became a shepherd—still an outcast and untrusted—but God promoted and employed him to the office of a prophet. Amos’s gift made room for him to preach and prophesy to the Northern Kingdom where the rich people dwelled. He taught them that God loved mercy more than formal sacrifices. He continued to say that greatness did not come through power but through justice and judgement.

The book of Amos is perhaps the least preached from, but is so powerful. His authorship is epic. I've learned that I have the ability and authority to speak positive things concerning my life and to then watch it manifest. We must keep in our heart, soul, and mind that as long as we live, we have hope, space, and opportunity.

    Born Into Poverty

In Calhoun County, South Carolina, a very rural area located in the outskirts of St. Matthews, during the spring, summer and fall, the cotton and bean fields were always filled with broke folk and folk whom were robbed of their education. A perfect example was my mother. As
