About this ebook
When his alien masters finally let their guard down, Chad Mitchell will be ready...
Chad Mitchell is an outsider. Born on an alien-controlled colony and with human servants for parents, a good life was never in his future.
But as he develops into a remarkably fast learner and unrivalled pilot, Chad finds himself valued more and more by his autocratic alien overlords.
From the edge of the colony's inner circle, the true extent of the aliens' wickedness becomes apparent. Chad's human friends watch him mingle with the leadership and think he has changed — that he has sold out to the oppressors, enjoying the trappings of a new position and forgetting where he came from.
Chad Mitchell knows better.
As he works his way deeper and deeper into the colony's trusted circle of power, an opportunity looms on the horizon.
True freedom lies in wait if Chad's plan comes off, not just for himself but for every human on the colony.
The cost of failure, on the other hand, does not bear thinking about.
Freedom doesn't come cheap. And for Chad Mitchell, it sure as hell won't come easy...

We live the way they let us.
Is that even really living?
Sure, life on this alien space station is all I’ve ever known, but I still know it’s not right.
I still know it’s not natural. I still know it’s not good for us.
Most importantly of all, I know it’s not something I can put up with for much longer.
We live under the control of the Anzorians, an alien race who brought humans to their world before I was born. None of us know exactly what happened. We don’t know if the Anzorians conquered Earth in a violent invasion or if they just abducted a few thousand people and left the rest as they were.
Hell, we’re so far away, we don’t even know if Earth is still there!
I’ve seen enough alien technology to believe these guys could destroy a planet if they wanted to, and Earth is so much smaller than their home world of Anzoria that it would probably be an insignificant task for them.
I definitely feel like we are insignificant in their eyes. Really, I have no idea why they brought us here to treat us the way they do.
They boss us around and use the luckiest of us as servants.
If that sounds weird, it’s only because I haven’t told you yet what they do to the unlucky ones.
Ever since I was old enough to understand our situation here on the Exxolon-B station, I’ve dreamed of finding a way to set things right — a way to set us free.
I hate this life, but this isn’t just about me.
All of my friends are in the same boat, too, and my dad has been in it for a whole lot longer. Living as servants to the ruling Anzorians is no life for anyone, and it kills me to wake up every day and see broken looks on the faces of everyone I care about.
I’ll put it as simply as I can: life on Exxolon-B just plain sucks.
But for the first time ever, I think there might be a way out.
Might.
Pay attention to that word, because the odds are stacked so firmly against me that I don’t think I’d share my plan with anyone else even if I could. I can’t, naturally, because the aliens have surveillance systems picking up every word we utter.
But like I said, I wouldn’t mention the details of this to anyone even if I could. I know what would happen: Dad and my friends would all say it was crazy.
They’d say I was crazy. They would probably do everything they could to talk me out of taking such a huge risk with such a low likelihood of paying off.
Maybe if the plan wasn’t so new, I’d even have talked myself out of it. But it was only two days ago that a call from the Station Commanders turned my life upside down. The plan only popped into my mind then
