Raquel screamed again, but nobody appeared. People at the other side of the road were stunned by her scream and looked at her like she was crazy.

Raquel inhaled sharply and hid back her knife.

If this is your plan to drive me insane, then you have committed a mistake! Raquel screamed at the top of her voice, she blinked back her tears that threatened to fall from her eyes.

She was going to be strong and not anyone trampled on her again. She would never berate herself again to the status of someone like Eva.

Evs might be Luna right now, but in her eyes, she will always remain the petty slave that once licked her feet. That day was going to come again, very soon.

Whoever you are, don't come out of your hiding because I will kill you for trying to scare me or rather drive me crazy Raquel talked to no one in particular.

Eva stared at the map in front of her, it was spread on the table and there were dots on them marking the specific places that had been attacked by these rogues.

They've formed a pack of their own, and they've been attacking places with a large number of people, places like the markets, parks, and other important spots where people would surely gather Jean said while pointing his fingers at the dotted places.

Eva sighed and said; They are targeting places with a large number of crowds to scare people and cause chaos and relatively a more number of deaths

Exactly, Jean agreed.

The influential elders in the pack elaborated on other events that had taken place, which had been causing the pack a lot of worry.

You're correct, Eva nodded and smiled at him.

He was such a reliable person and without him, she would look stupid. Alpha Trent was belligerent, and he amazed her by leaving his pack to follow her.

Though she had insisted, he could have chosen to stay back and leave her, but he didn't. All these things made her keep falling deeply and deeply in love with him.

He was her rock, she could fall and he would be there to hold her. Alpha Trent was truly her entire life, without him, there would be nothing left to live for.

We haven't checked how well-trained the warriors of the pack are. We have to know their capabilities and the level of their intelligence Alpha Trent said and the other nodded agreeably.

A knock came on the door and the person was asked to come in. The warrior came in and bowed to them.

Why are you here?

While we were talking in groups, one of the warriors mentioned that they had seen a symbol which represented the pack which the rogues might have come from the warrior said with his head still lowered.

They exchanged glances among themselves, they could finally discover who was behind the numerous killings.

Author's POV.

The warrior bowed again and left the room. Eva faced Alpha Trent with a smile.

This could be the solution and finally those evil people will be exposed Eva smiled again.

Alpha Trent didn't smile back but instead said; it's too soon to rejoice, we should raise her hopes too high when it comes to hearsays.

Eva's smile disappeared as he said that, he ruined her mood.

You should be more positive when it comes to these sorts of things, negativity will only make things difficult Eva advised.

Luna is right, being too negative will only stagnate our progress Jean supported Eva.

Alpha Trent sighed in defeat and ended up agreeing with them. He had been an Alpha for so many years, and he never put his hope in something heard from someone else.

It could be false information to divert attention from the real scheme. He couldn't be too certain, though.

He gazed at his mate, and she flashed a smile at him.

'Why are you so beautiful?' he thought and quickly looked away from her.

This wasn't the time for him to be romantic with her, he had to focus and help her develop her pack. He never supported her coming to this place before, but now he understood her.

They couldn't punish thousands of people because of the foolish mistake of a person. These people needed their help and he would do everything within his power to assist his mate.

He would never allow her to stand alone in the face of danger or trials, he would be with her every step of the way.

Alpha Trent's attention turned to the door as it opened, and a young warrior walked in with the other who came before. They both greeted them.

Your fellow warrior said you got a glimpse of the symbol of the rogue pack, can you describe it for us or rather sketch it? Jean asked the young warrior?

The warrior looked lean and a bit sickly, Alpha Trent and Eva wondered why he was in such a poor state and was still asked to train or defend anyone.

I asked you a question, can you describe the symbol of their pack to us? Jean yelled and slammed his hand on the table.

I don't remember Alpha He shook his head. He was fidgeting and his body was visibly shaking.

His family business was destroyed during the killings and they've had to depend on him. They couldn't lose him now.

He vividly remembered how the symbol looked, and he had also made his own research about the pack it belonged to.

He knew the pack symbol was similar to the pack which their former Luna (Raquel) came from. The full moon pack's symbol of revenge was similar to the symbol of those rogues.

This one kneeling before him was a traitor and betrayer of the pack. He held vital information that could save thousands of lives, but he had decided to conceal it.

He was not worthy to be part of the pack.

Why? Jean questioned.

Eva argued. He hasn't done anything wrong to warrant being sent to the dungeon. He might be afraid and your tone and approach isn't helping.

The elders looked at themselves, and they found it a bit insulting that Eva would question Jean in such a manner. Whereas Jean strongly agreed with her.

He was being too harsh with the warrior. He nodded and apologized for his behavior.

Eva stretched her hand to him and shook it from side to side. It was an indication for him not to apologize to her.

They smiled at each other and Eva left her seat, she went to the warrior who was still on his knees, saying gibberish words.

Eva touched his shoulder and raised him up from the floor.

Luna He paid respects to her.

Eva smiled and patted his shoulder. She asked. What's your name?

The warrior blinked rapidly, he was stunned that she asked for his name. He didn't have any importance because he was too weak and could serve as the messenger;therefore, no one ever asked for his name.

My name is Walter, He replied.

Walter…that's such a nice name, do you have a family or are you single? Eva asked with her sweet smile that could charm anyone.

I have a wife and three children He replied and that literally warmed Eva's heart.

'He's so young'

That's exceptional but you look quite sickly, I would advise you to visit the doctor for a check-up and don't worry, I will pay for it Eva said while staring at his sickly face.

Thank you so much, Luna Walter appreciated her.

You're welcome, I know that you're afraid of telling us the truth because of your family, but don't worry, we will secure and protect them. You will be alive to go watch your children grow, but that might never happen if you keep quiet.

Walter thought about her words but refused to say the truth.

I really don't remember, Walter insisted.

He expected Eva to be angry and yell at him, but she only spoke gently.

I will order some guards later to take you to the hospital, buy groceries for you and your family, then collect a list of your needs. When you remember and become prepared to say the truth, then we will be here waiting for you.

Thank you, Luna Walter bowed, and he was allowed to leave.

There is no need to be coercive with people, he's going to say the truth and realize that we aren't going to endanger the lives of his family, Eva advised.

They nodded in agreement. She looked at Alpha Trent, who gave her a thumbs up.

Meanwhile, Walter, who had left the place, rushed back to the training ground, then straight to the dressing room, which was presently empty.

Raquel's hideout> late at night.

Can you even hear yourself? Raquel yelled at the warrior who had threatened Walter.

The warrior shrugged and replied rudely. You should be grateful to me that I was on the lookout, if I hadn't discovered what he said, then he would have confessed and you would be decaying in a dungeon.

How dare you speak to me with such a tone? My father gave you money to do your freaking job, and you think you did me a favor. Oh, come off it! She shot back in anger.

The other warriors simply watched them arguing and holding a screaming match.

You've been rude to us from the beginning, but one thing that you aren't aware of is that you're safe because of us! He shouted at her, he was talking boldly and fearlessly.

The way he was raging, it seemed like he was going to smack her in the face at any time. No one tried to stop him from challenging her.

None of them were interested in supporting her anymore because money wasn't everything and their late Alpha was gone and buried. There was no need to fight anymore, especially with someone who doesn't appreciate you at all.

Raquel had always been rude from the start but they supported her before, thinking that she was a courageous and intelligent woman, but they were mistaken. Almost all the ideas brought to destroy the killers of Liam weren't hers.

They were better off without her and could start their group. They would abide by their own rules and work with their strategy, they would prefer that than being ordered by a woman.

I have always done my best to contain the stupidity of each one of you, but today is the last straw. I don't care how you do it but stop that imbecile from giving, then that symbol Raquel shouted, she was breathing heavily and her voice was becoming strained.

If they dare attack the vampire world or try to cause a fucking unrest, each of you will take the fall because there would be a great war and there would be nothing left in this pack

Those warriors can't battle against their fellow pack, then you decide to bring a whole vampire pack against them. Goodness! Raquel hollered and grasped her hair with her hands.

She let out a scream of frustration before sucking in deep breaths.

Though she had a point, they had enough of her attitude. It didn't suffice that they were failing but she had to exacerbate things.

I will stop him, but I am leaving with my head up high, I quit this stupid gang He scowled and glared at her.

His look was intimidating, but Raquel acted like she wasn't shaken by it. She understood that she didn't stand a chance against them.

We will fight for our dead Alpha alone! And don't worry, we don't need you or your money because without us, you are nothing He spat and laughed in her face.

It was a crooked and mocking laughter, it sent chills down her spine but she refused to shudder or show her weakness.

Then you can all leave and go to hell, but remember that you will crawl back to me Sue said her words confidently.

That boldness was fake, she was broken and shattered inside. They were her only hope towards destroying Eva and her mate. They were the only support she had.

Though her father had helped her, he wouldn't support her again because he wanted her to return to his pick but she had refused. This would only make him coerce her the more.

Who's coming with me? the rebel roared, and they all yelled 'Me'

Raquel was shocked that none of them stood by her. She should speak more softly and when you apologize, but she was too egoistic.

Let's go! He hollered and they all growled in excitement.

I hope you can achieve your goals alone The rebel mocked but received a hateful stare from Raquel.

He smirked and walked closer to her, he grasped the back of her neck and smashed his lips forcefully on hers.

He released her neck and left her dumbfounded. The others walked out as well, and none of them looked back..

Everything seemed like a nightmare that she wanted to wake up from but unfortunately, she couldn't.

Her life had truly fallen apart and there was nothing she could do about it. She began hiccuping, and her breathing became inconsistent, that second she thought a panic attack would occur.

She turned to the door and screamed. Remember that you all are nothing without me, you will return on your knees and I will never accept you back.

Liam must be rolling in the grave, realizing the bunch of idiots and bastards he had trained. You all are nothing but scoundrels and scumbags!

The door burst open and it was the person who challenged her, she didn't even know his name. He stared at her with murderous eyes.

We can all step into this room and have our rounds with you, we would f*ck you turn by turn and you will be screaming all night He threatened.

Fear gripped her heart and she began shaking.
