Strange Litter Box Behavior
Some cats and kittens like to play or even sleep in their litter boxes. They may find familiar scents in the litter, like the aroma from the scent glands in their paws that is deposited when they dig in the litter.
Cats may like to sleep in the litter box because it is a partially closed in space that cats love. Felines like to sleep in closed-in places for security from predators and for warmth.
Bizarre Deformities in Cats
1. Frankenkitten.
- Born a stray in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, this ten-month-old kitten was brought to the Geelong Animal Welfare Society along with his brother. He caused quite a hubbub when he was brought in.
You see, Frankenkitten (Frankie, for short) was born with four ears. Two normal sized ears and two smaller ears in front of the regular ones. The smaller ears are known as pinna ears,
meaning they have no internal parts. Also, his right eye was deformed from birth and infected. Soon after his arrival, the defective, infectious eye was surgically removed.
Almost right after eye surgery, Frankie and his brother were fostered by Georgia Anderson, a local volunteer. She named him Frankenkitten because of the scar and the numerous stitches in his face from the surgery. But that’s not the end.
Frankie also has a major overbite. As he grows up, he will need major dental surgery, including the removal of his lower canines, so they don’t grow through the roof of his mouth.
Frankie turned out to be an affectionate, playful kitty and stole Georgia’s heart. So, after the eight-day adoption waiting period, Frankie joined Georgia’s home forever. He now plays with his fellow cat housemates with lots of energy and mischief.
2. The Kitten Born with Six Legs.
- A stray and pregnant cat mother, who was about to give birth, was left at the Feline Friends Charity in North East England. Bridget, the staff called her, birthed six kittens but only four survived, unfortunately. One was an orange tabby born with twisted leg syndrome and named Henri.
As Henri grew, they found out two amazing things about the kitty. First, he was a she, and she had
